cool zone / kinoko mark(ing?)[edit]

So, I don't really know anything about this version of Excitebike, but I propose two alternatives over the conjectural "Temp Mushroom" name. The first is the name straight from page 6 of the original Excitebike instruction booklet: cool zone (クールゾーン). The other is one that I hear the announcer describe it as: キノコマーク (kinoko māku, mushroom mark). My preference would be the former because the game is basically just a Mario-themed reskin with custom courses, and the Excitebike manual describes it visually as ">>" mark (">>"マーク上) in parenthesis, so it makes more sense to me to keep the original name (sparing another language tag helps). I'm checking if there's more input on a preference or some other information before moving. LinkTheLefty (talk) 16:16, February 25, 2022 (EST)

I disagree. Excitebike isn't a part of the Mario series, but this game is. I don't think we can use names from other games in Excite series. It would be a good idea to dig up more promotional material for this game instead. Also, the design is different. Spectrogram (talk) 00:30, February 26, 2022 (EST)
This game would be considered part of the Excitebike series as well, however. Given the relative obscurity, I'm not sure how realistic it would be to find other promotional material that happens to explain this game element. LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:35, March 3, 2022 (EST)
