The 'Shroom Spotlight

Hello, all you readers of The 'Shroom! Hooded Pitohui here, handling the equipment for the month. Let me start by welcoming you to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing, to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.

August is the month we celebrate our community and the wiki's anniversary with our Awards ceremony. In fact, we just had our ceremonies about a week ago. In the spirit of all that celebration, and with things being a little more low-key just after Awards, I've tried to pick out some focuses this month that shouldn't be too hard to achieve, but let's see how we did last month before we get into that!

Checking in on last month's focuses, ThePowerPlayer (talk) created King Kong, with 1468z (talk) adding some additional information! It looks like we could still use an additional image from the DOS version of Mario is Missing!, but getting this article created goes to show you there isn't any monkey business here! ThePowerPlayer (talk) also expanded the DK: Jungle Climber section on Flipflaps, and we now have a complete set of images for the Golden Drink page thanks to a gold-star effort from Sparks (talk). Sparks (talk) didn't stop there, working some magic to improve this Green Magikoopa sprite from TTYD. To round off our efforts, Axis (talk) found a source for King Boo's Crown... which only referred to the item as a generic "crown". Maybe someone will find another source for it someday, but it's a good start! With only the Origami King bestiary still in need of attention, it was a successful month last month!

Let's see if we can keep that up with this month's focuses:

Article Category Focuses
Shock Block
Wanted article
We have an article on the panels that create these when they're matched up, but we don't have anything on the blocks themselves! While it would be ideal to get an image of these from Tetris Attack and worthwhile to ensure Tetris Attack made no changes to them, it should be possible to get enough information on them for an article by playing Panel de Pon through the NSO service.
The Game of Life: Super Mario Edition
Stub article
How about getting work done for the wiki by playing a game? This Mario-themed 2021 release by Hasbro seems to feature a number of recognizable Mario characters and enemies (including Waluigi, Toadette, and Hammer Bros.) on the cards used in the gameplay, but you wouldn't know that from looking at the wiki. At a minimum, we should get a full listing of what characters and species appear, be it on the game's board or on its cards.
Time Limit
Rewrite and expansion required
Don't worry! There's no time limit on getting this done. Though it would be pretty cool if we could add some information on time limits in Super Mario Land and its two follow-up games before we get to next month's Spotlight. Fans of retro platformers, help us out here!
Durian
Articles that need more images
Look, we all remember kicking these around in Super Mario Sunshine, but they've been in other Mario games, too! Maybe it'd be easier to remember that if we had some images of them in those other games. We need images from Super Mario Odyssey, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Mario Party DS, and Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat. That sounds like a tall order, but those first two are on the Switch, so it shouldn't be too hard to get a screenshot.

Image quality requested
Mario Party-e was recently voted the Most Forgettable Game in our annual Awards ceremony. In fact, it's so forgotten that it seems we've all forgotten to get scans of the most important cards in the game! If you have the cards around and a good scanner, consider getting us a scan of Mario's hat. While you're at it, we could use Mario's outfit and Mario's shoes, too!
Completion
Citation needed
Now, I know plenty of people out there have beaten Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury without using the Cat Mario amiibo! This should practically be a freebie. Verify that avoiding the amiibo and the Invincibility Bell that it grants cause the save file stars to shine, and get us a link we can use as a citation. It should be simple.

Now just before I leave you, I'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently thirty-seven that need to be implemented, dating as far back as 2018, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed. Additionally, there are many unresolved discussions that we would love to see come to some sort of conclusion. Some might have already concluded and just need the template removed, others have been waiting for a response for years.

Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact Yoshi876 on his talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition! Thank you, and good luck!
