A fake Garnet Star is on display in the main hall of the Sanctum, which is meant to attract tourists and trick thieves, which works on the Shadow Sirens and Doopliss, as well as Bowser and Kammy Koopa, as they confuse it with the real thing. This makes the fake Garnet Star an actual red herring, fitting the detective theme of Chapter 6. Upon finding the real Garnet Star, it teaches Mario the move Showstopper.
