Super Mario Bros. Wonder is an upcoming 2D Super Mario game for the Nintendo Switch, announced during the June 21, 2023 Nintendo Direct, and is planned to be released on October 20, 2023.[3] The game features a new art style and power-ups, including the Wonder Flower, with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Yoshis of different colors, and Yellow Toad as playable characters. It is the first new full-fledged 2D Mario game since New Super Mario Bros. U released almost 11 years prior. Not counting entries in the Super Mario Maker series and Super Mario Run, it is the first 2D Mario game to not use the New Super Mario Bros. label since Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins.
