Negative Zone
Negative Zone is Luigi's Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When Luigi uses it, he starts dancing around while Arabian-style music can be heard playing. A large greenish circle with a fairly large radius appears on the stage, and everything in the circle is altered to look like an inverted image. Any opponents caught in the circle can be affected by a variety of effects. Opponents can escape the circle and possibly avoid the effects after leaving the circle. They are affected while the circle is still on the stage, and will stay affected a little bit after the circle disappears. Luigi is not affected by this move in any way, except for being slightly slowed down. The effects wear off after a while, after the circle starts to shrink. The effects of Negative Zone are as follows: drastically reduced attack power; greater launch distance from being hit; increased likelihood of slipping; steady increase in damage percentage; a Lip's Stick on the head; dizziness; uncontrollable taunting; sudden sleepiness; decreased movement speed; and tumbling in midair.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Luigi's Final Smash was changed to Poltergust 5000, which itself was replaced with the Poltergust G-00 in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Luigi's Final Smash. As exotic music plays, he performs a dance befitting a sorcerous incantation. A barrier envelops him, negatively impacting all in his area. Random effects include getting launched, sleeping, moving in slow motion, tripping, fainting, and losing attack power. This technique is a reflection of the dark side he embraced in his brother's shadow. (American English) | ||||||||

In contrast to the oddness of the dance, this is a terribly powerful Final Smash. (British English) |
