Arich is a giant red spider who appears as a boss in both Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. Its name comes from the word "arachnid", which is a classification term used to describe spiders.

History
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
Arich is the second boss of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, appearing at the end of Kremwood Forest in the boss stage, Arich's Ambush. Its name is featured in the world's secret cave, Arich's Hoard. During the boss fight, Arich is hanging from a thread of web, and to attack it, Dixie and Kiddy Kong must ram a Barrel into its jaw. Arich's attacks consist of bouncing up and down slowly in an attempt to crush the Kongs, and by spitting out bouncing green balls of venom. Arich is defeated when the Kongs hit its jaw four times. Upon being defeated, Arich falls over onto its back and drops the patch, which Funky Kong uses to construct the Hover Craft at Funky's Rentals.

The secret cave in Kremwood Forest is named "Arich's Hoard". This name may either imply that Arich kept a Banana Bird in captivity at King K. Rool's request, or that this cave was used by Arich as a larder until K. Rool commandeered it in order to trap a Banana Bird.

In the Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country 3, Arich has a different battle theme than the other bosses. It shares this theme with Kroctopus.

Donkey Kong Land III
Arich returns in Donkey Kong Land III, where it appears as the third boss. It is fought at the end of Blackforest Plateau, in the boss stage, Arich Attack. Arich's size was greatly reduced for this version, although the boss fight is similar to the Donkey Kong Country 3 battle, minus the barrels. Arich first spits out three balls of venom. The Kongs must jump on its head to attack it, rather than use a barrel at its jaw like in the previous game. After each hit, Arich bounces around at a faster rate in an attempt to crush them. After the Kongs bounce onto its head four times, Arich is defeated.

It's easier to hit Arich with Dixie because she holds the barrel over her head with her ponytail.

Once Arich is defeated, he will drop a Patch, which the Kongs must bring to Funky Kong, so that he can fix up his Hover Craft for them to use.

Arich returned in Donkey Kong Land III as the boss of the third area, Blackforest Plateau, in Arich Attack.  Arich's size was greatly reduced for this version, although the boss fight is similar to the Donkey Kong Country 3 battle, minus the barrels.  First, Arich releases three balls of venom.  The Kongs jump on his head, causing him to bounce around at a much faster rate to try and crush them.  After four hits, he is beaten.

*The Banana Bird Cave in Kremwood Forest is named "Arich's Hoard". This name may either imply that Arich kept a Banana Bird in captivity at King K. Rool's request, or that this cave was used by Arich as a larder until K. Rool commandeered it in order to trap a Banana Bird.

*In the Game Boy Advance version of Donkey Kong Country 3, Arich has a different battle theme than the other bosses. He shares this theme with Kroctopus.  Strangely, both K. Rool battles use the same battle theme as the other bosses.  Razor Ridge is next to KAOS Kore, and Kremwood Forest is fairly close to Krematoa, which suggests that Arich's boss theme may have been originally intended for K. Rool.
