In battle, the water rises, and Bessie Bass attempts to attack [[Yoshi (species)|Yellow Yoshi]] by swimming through platforms, making small leaps through the water, or by a high leap out of the water, attempting to eat Yellow Yoshi. If Yellow Yoshi is eaten, Bessie Bass chews and spits Yellow Yoshi out. While she is leaping out of the water and falling straight down, Yellow Yoshi needs to aim at her mouth to hit her; three hits defeat her. After the first hit, she leaps twice before performing a big leap.
When first encountered on her [[Bessie Bass's Battleship|Battleship]], Bessie Bass is only slightly larger than a [[Yoshi (species)|Yoshi]]; though through the use of his magic, [[Kamek]] was able to grow Bessie Bass to monstrous proportions.


In her battle against Yoshi, Bessie Bass is assisted by several falling [[Toober Guy]]s, who Yoshi can swallow for [[Yoshi Egg|egg]]s to fight her, though additional Yoshi Eggs fall as well.
In battle, Bessie Bass attempts to attack [[Yellow Yoshi|Yoshi]] by crushing him with several small leaps out of the water or by making a giant jump out of the water. Then, she falls downward towards Yoshi with her jaws wide-open, trying to engulf him and leave Yoshi with [[Baby Mario]] floating away. It is only when Bessie Bass makes one of these large leaps that she is vulnerable to an attack. While Bessie Bass is in the air, Yoshi must hit her on the lips to injure her; hitting Bessie Bass three times on the lips will be enough to defeat her.
