It introduces the eponymous [[Chomp Rock]] as well as the [[Mine-Cart Yoshi]] transformation. The name is a portmanteau of "Chomp Rock" and "{{wp|rock and roll}}." This level's playable [[Yoshi (species)|Yoshi]] is the pink Yoshi.

The level starts with a [[Chomp Rock]] and some [[Shy Guy]]s, followed by a pipe that produces [[Mega Guy]]s for [[Yoshi (species)|Pink Yoshi]] to turn into [[Mega Eggdozer]]s. One Mega Eggdozer must be used to destroy a [[Warp Pipe|pipe]] that blocks an opening to a [[Whirly Gate]]; within the Whirly Gate is a power-up that turns Pink Yoshi into a [[Mine-Cart Yoshi|Mine-Cart]], and he must reach the end gate by navigating a series of platforms populated with Shy Guys. Past this is a [[Checkpoint Ring]] and an [[Egg Plant]]. A second Chomp Rock is found in the next area, and Pink Yoshi must use it to clear a path through several walls of soft rock and a bed of [[thorn]]s, leading to the level's [[Goal Ring]].
