There is no proof the events described took place, and they actively contradict what is stated in the four heroes section of the implied character list. No, the idea that the Toad collapsed while journeying and a healer brought it to Hookail's castle does not make sense. Why? We find a chest in Hooktail's castle meaning a hero fell here, which could only be the Goomba since we find every other one in other locations. The healer is also called a priest in Japanese and Poshley Sanctum is a temple honoring the stars, which probably means that the garnet star was the one the healer hid.
