Had I originally been given the task of redesigning Donkey Kong during the NES era...😂😂

The introduction of 3D modeling at Rare Ltd changed everything. When I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to re-create Donkey Kong for Donkey Kong Country, we had state of the art hardware and software to experiment with. I doubt we’d have even tried to create pre-rendered sprites using that tech, if we’d had it 5 years earlier and were asked to create a DK game for NES. But as it turned out, when we converted the graphics from the SNES game to Gameboy, they still held up remarkably well, and looked solid and 3 Dimensional! Who’d had thought it back then? 😀😅 #donkeykongcountry #donkeykong #nes #gameboy #nintendo #art #gamedev #3dmodeling
