The unsued script has a character known as Doug that doesn't make the final cut and the scene where Mario and Luigi meet Dasy was changed.

Bowser's Diary
Secrets
It's a little known fact that if one reads Bowser's diary fifty time in the third chapter of Paper Mario that you come across a secret page that reveals it is actually Bowser and Kammy who sired Princess Peach. Bowser and Kammy were Human at the time, and it was only when one of Kammy's magical spells misfired that they were transformed into hideous turtle creatures. It is also well known that Mushroomers have a deep racial hatred for turtles (as they were declared property during the Forever Forest-Gusty Gulch Act) so it comes as no surprise that the Mushroomers naturally thought that their King and Queen had been devoured by rabid koopas and had Bowser and Kammy chased out of the Kingdom. Bowser then seized control of the twelve tribes of the Koopa and created the Glorious People's Army of the People and then set out to reclaim what was once his. During this time he developed a deep psychological obsession for his former daughter (who had since been taken it by Prime Minster Toadsworth Von Toadsworth) and began to believe that marrying her was the only way for him to revert to his true form. Thus, he kidnapped his daughter, conquered half of his former kingdom and declared Marshall Law. It is at that point where the first Super Mario Bros. begins.

Mario and Princess Peach can only trigger the game's one reference to the Gerbilympics by unlocking the VIP Generator Room while paying off their damages in Merlee's Mansion. Happiness is a special feeling of satisfaction, contentment and joy that can affect an individual, a group, and even whole lands. Happiness as a concept plays an important role in the Yoshi series, specifically Yoshi's Story.

<div id=fh3 class=mw-headline>History</div>
<div id=fh4 class=mw-headline>Yoshi series</div>
<div id=fh5 class=mw-headline>Yoshi's Story</div>
At the beginning of Yoshi's Story, Yoshi's Island and the Yoshis are in a state of supreme happiness, guaranteed by the Super Happy Tree. The Super Happy Tree is the embodiment of happiness on the island, as well as a bountiful source of fruit for the Yoshis, including Apples, Bananas, Watermelons, Grapes, Melons (the Yoshi's favorite), and the rare Heart Fruits – a special fruit that can induce "Super Happiness." However, this era of bliss would not last, as Baby Bowser cast a dark spell over the island. He turned Yoshi's Island into a pop-up storybook, and then proceeded to uproot the Super Happy Tree, stealing it away to his castle. Without the Super Happy Tree, the Yoshis entered a depressed, weakened state, preventing them from taking action against Baby Bowser.

However, in a remote corner of Yoshi's Island, six Yoshi Eggs hatched after the spell had been cast. These six Baby Yoshis seemed to be unaffected by the depressed state of the island and their fellow Yoshis. The Baby Yoshis realized Yoshi's Island was in a state of distress, and resolved to solve the problem themselves. They decided to rescue the Super Happy Tree by locating it via the trail of fruit it left behind while it was brought to Baby Bowser's Castle. The Baby Yoshis also hypothesized that by eating lots of fruit and generally having fun on their adventure, they would be filled with happiness, which would in turn assist in restoring happiness to the island as they spread their good cheer around. Determined to save the island and the other Yoshis, the six Baby Yoshis set off on the trail of fruit through the Pages of the Yoshi's Island storybook.

After the Baby Yoshis ate thirty fruit on one stage, they would grow extremely happy, spreading cheer throughout the area and allowing them to move on to the next Page in the storybook. The Baby Yoshis could become even happier by accomplishing various tasks in each Page they traveled to. The Yoshi's Mood, or level of happiness, was symbolized by the amount of ♥ he collected in each stage. More ♥ equated to more happiness. ♥ would be rewarded by eating fruit, especially the Yoshi's personal favorite fruit (for example, the Yellow Baby Yoshi's favorite is Bananas) and the special Lucky Fruit chosen at random at the beginning of the adventure. ♥ could also be earned by defeating enemies and collecting Heart Coins. Additionally, bonus ♥ were awarded for acquiring the stage's Special Hearts, eating Melons, and by having all the Yoshis survive the current stage.

The Baby Yoshis spread happiness throughout five Pages before finally reaching the Page of Baby Bowser's Castle. After collecting thirty fruit in the level, the Baby Yoshis proceeded to Baby Bowser's lair. Inside the lair, they discovered the Super Happy Tree, as well as Baby Bowser. Baby Bowser attempted to defeat the Baby Yoshis, but after an intense fight, the Baby Yoshis emerged victorious. The tiny tyrant was whisked away from the castle by his Toady minions, while the Baby Yoshis reclaimed the Super Happy Tree. Baby Bowser's spell over Yoshi's Island was broken, turning the storybook back into an island. The six Yoshis returned the Super Happy Tree to Yoshi's Island, restoring happiness to the land and freeing the other Yoshis from their state of depression. Ultimately, Yoshi's Island once again returned to an era of peace and happiness thanks to the efforts of six Little Yoshis.

Holerö
Holerö (pronounced [hɔləˈʁøː]) is a German neologism used as an informal greeting or an interjection expressing joy or slight surprise. The word became a running gag in the later era of the Club Nintendo magazines and played a major role in the comic "Sag niemals Holerö!".

<div id=fh3 class=mw-headline>Origin</div>
History of mario
Claude M. Moyse, chief editor of the German Club Nintendo magazine from the mid-1990s until 2001, suggested that it may have been used by Loriot or Helge Schneider, two popular German comedians. According to Moyse, his co-worker Marcus Menold first introduced the term "holerö" to the Club Nintendo comics.
We all know Mario, don't we? Yeah. We do. And the only secret is... HE APPEARED IN LOADS OF GAMES! EVEN IN A KIRBY GAME! He first appeared in Donkey Kong. Good heavens was it a rubbish game! Just jump over barrels and get to not Peach, but Pauline and that's it! You've completed the level!!! But there was a special hammer, which you used to smack the barrels with.

<div id=fh3 class=mw-headline>Usage in Club Nintendo</div>
(This was made into an article, but it was a great in depth history that includes everything you need to know. Yoshi876)
<div id=fh4 class=mw-headline>History</div>
The word first appeared in the German version of Secret of Mana and was subsequently used in the majority of German Super Nintendo game translations, for which Moyse was responsible as well.

Part one of "Super Mario in Die Nacht des Grauens" marked the first occurrence of the word "holerö" in the Club Nintendo comics. In this story, it was used by Mario to greet Kirby and Link, whom he surprisingly met in the basement of their shared house. Later in the same story, Mario used it again as a joyful exclamation after defeating the friends' enemies. Since then, the word was found in almost every comic of the series. In "Donkey Kong in: Banana Day 24", Donkey Kong used it as a joyful exclamation. Mario used it to greet the other musicians at Koopa Records in the comic "Super Mario: Die Blume meines Herzens".
Hot Dog
...Dyllis can mix a Power Steak and a Fresh Veggie to create a Hot Dog (though how she is able to make a pork tube out of a slab of steak is a complete mystery).

The comic "Blast Corps in Yoshis Knallkekse" marked the first occurrence of the word that actually affected the story in some way. After a spell was put on Yoshi's truck by Kamek (who exclaimed "Holerö!" when suddenly appearing next to the truck), Yoshi sees a poster reading "Blast Corps - You've got a problem? We'll solve it! Call 3-2-1-Blast Corps and we'll be there before you're able to pronounce 'holerö'!". He calls the Blast Corps team, steps out of the phone box and starts to pronounce "Holer...". In this moment the Blast Corps team arrives indeed, rhetorically asking whether they have promised too much. Later in the comic, Dr. Light too exclaims "Holerööööö!" when arriving with a helicopter.
("And it will always be one of life's biggest mysteries.")

In the second part of "Super Mario in Die Nacht des Grauens", Link and Kirby exclaim the word in pain when they suffer from Mario trying out a magical dice. Later in the comic, Mario uses a magical spell that results in him, Link and Kirby wearing women's clothes. Their reaction to this is "Ho..." (Mario), "...le..." (Link), "...rö!" (Kirby). The demonical creature Abigor also makes use of the word when meeting the three friends.
("Never try to make sense out of Mario games." - Cobold)

<div id=fh4 class=mw-headline>"Sag niemals Holerö!"</div>
("Actually, I'm pretty sure there's such a thing as beef hot dogs. I could be wrong, though." - Pie Shroom)
Finally, the term was featured prominently in "Sag niemals Holerö!". The comic centers around an evil extraterrestrial called KKDU, who disguised himself as a crooner called Heini. One of his songs is called "Holerö", and anyone listening to it will turn into food (to be more exact, a kind of food typical of the country the person lives in). Only Mario, TicToc and Bomberman can resist the evil spell, because they are the chosen ones to stop Heini from invading Earth and eating all the transformed terrestrials.

Koopaphobia is a persistent fear of Koopas, mentioned only during The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Raiders of the Lost Mushroom". Indiana Joe is the only known character to have been afflicted with Koopaphobia, as the mere mention of Koopas caused him to shiver uncontrollably. How Indiana Joe developed his Koopaphobia is unknown, although it may be an allusion to Indiana Jones' own fear of snakes.
Any time in Delfino Plaza (excluding the flood), if Mario sprays the pineapples in the small fountain behind the Grand Pianta Statue or the papayas in the other fountain next to the entrance to Noki Bay, the fruits explode in the water as Mario had thrown them into the ocean. (This isn't really a glitch, because once the fruits are out of their original place, if they touch water they disappear, or explode.)

Indiana Joe is aware of the fact that the legendary Lost Mushroom is found within the Temple of Koopa, but due to his Koopaphobia, he never musters up the strength to venture inwards, as the entrance itself is shaped like a crowned Koopa's head. Instead, he eventually meets up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and Toad, and leads them to the Temple of Koopa, telling them to enter, while he waits outside.
"(It's not a glitch, but I'll put it here anyway Yoshi876)"

Indiana Joe is eventually scared off by Kolonel von Koop and the Koopa Pack, and returns to his home. Realizing that he can no longer be a treasure hunter due to his Koopaphobia, Indiana Joe starts his own babysitting service. Later, he discovers that the three Mushroom brats he is babysitting are even scarier than Kolonel von Koop himself, and he ultimately overcomes his Koopaphobia to help Mario's group recover the Lost Mushroom.

Mario's Shirt is the classic red shirt that Mario wears during most of his platforming Mario series games, except when he is Dr. Mario, uses a power-up, or is playing sports. However, a few exceptions have taken place, such as in Super Mario Sunshine, where his default shirt is short-sleeved. Mario can also receive a Hawaiian-style turquoise vest with Shine Sprites on it after beating the game.

There have also been recolors of his shirt in the older Mario games, where the most common recolor was blue instead of red. A few Badges in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door can change his shirt, as well as his hat. This can be done by equipping the L Emblem Badge (which gives him Luigi's clothes), the W Emblem Badge (which gives him him Wario's clothes), or a combination of both (which gives him Waluigi's clothes). Both use 0 BP and have no effects other than changing his appearance.
Mario Kart (series)
With a total of nine titles in the series, Nintendo has started a sort-of fad of cartoon-styled racing games amongst many gaming companies.
Although many types of shirts are available to Mario, they do not majorly influence him unless he uses a power-up.

In the game, Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars, Mario wore a variety of shirts that acted as a form or armor. However, these shirts could not be visible on screen or worn by Mario as he would still appear in his traditional outfit.

Master (title)
Mario Party DS Go- Gurt
The title of Master is given solely to the supreme sovereign leader of the Kremling Krew. The title has only been known to be held by three individuals: King K. Rool, his apparent successor KAOS and Krusha. Presumably, there have been other Masters in the past before King K. Rool rose to preeminent power – one Master may have led an army of Kremlings during the Kremean War, although this is unconfirmed. However, it is possible the title of Master originated during the reign of King K. Rool himself. After the events of Donkey Kong Land 2, King K. Rool lost his title of Master to the robotic entity known as KAOS. As such, KAOS was the leader of the Kremling Krew during the events of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. It is unknown how or why King K. Rool lost his title of Master to KAOS. However, it was later revealed that KAOS was only the de jure Master, and King K. Rool, in his guise of Baron K. Roolenstein, was the de facto Master. KAOS was merely a robotic creation that took direct orders only from King K. Rool himself, effectively making King K. Rool the true sovereign leader of the Kremling Krew. It is unknown if the other Kremlings knew that KAOS was being controlled behind the scenes, or if they were part of a conspiracy to possibly fool the Kong Family into believing their old nemesis had fallen out of power. Regardless, after the events of Donkey Kong Country 3, King K. Rool officially reclaimed the title of Master, and led the Kremling Krew during the events of Donkey Kong Land III, Donkey Kong 64, and beyond.
Strangely, the back of the box stated that Mario Party DS is available on the Nintendo DS, despite the fact that it hadn't been released yet. The Mario Party DS Go-Gurt appears to advertise Mario Party DS.

In the episode "Speed" from the Donkey Kong Country tv show, Krusha, after becoming "smartified" because of being hit by a minecart, proceeds to usurp King K. Rool of his position as Master, reducing him to servant status alongside Klump. Krusha's plans of stealing the Crystal Coconut and world domination are ultimately cut short as, after another incident with a minecart near the episode's end, his intelligence is reduced back to normal and King K. Rool promptly reclaims his position.

Paper Mario (series)
Trivia
Player is a term used for a person playing a video game. The first Mario game, Donkey Kong, was originally first played and tested by Shigeru Miyamoto and a few of his employees, trying out the game and at the same time seeing who could beat it first. Although most players are human, Mario media has also shown the series' specific species to enjoy certain video games, which are usually fictional.
*In all three games of the series someone whose name begins with B is told to "still their tongue". In Paper Mario, Bow says it to Bootler, in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Grodus says it to Beldam and in Super Paper Mario, Blumiere's Father says it to Blumiere.

In some games, mostly the RPG games, many characters break the fourth wall and talk to the player ("you in front of the TV"); these characters include Goombella, Lord Crump, and Professor Frankly from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It is also worth noting that several characters use Mario (or whatever playable character) as a device to talk to the player; for instance, Mario's RPG adventures often show supporting characters giving Mario commands like "press the A button". These instructions are actually directed to the player. Super Paper Mario makes a point out of this by having Mario ask what the person exactly means by "press the A button".

In Super Paper Mario, characters such as Bestovius refer to the player as a deity-like being existing within another dimension. Thoreau describes the player as the great being who watches them when Mario asks what the "wii Button" is. It may be worth noting that the manual of Super Mario Bros. 2 explains the dream-based origin of certain enemy characters (for instance, it establishes that Cobrats come from Toad's dreams), and it happens to state that Ninjis "appear in the dreams of NES players". Another reference to the player is in Hotel Mario, in which there are many occurrences of Mario, Luigi, and Peach breaking the fourth wall. Some examples include Mario telling the player to check out the enclosed instruction book for help, Luigi saying "And you gotta help us", and Peach saying "And I thank you too". At the end of Hotel Mario, Mario, Peach, and Luigi all exclaim "You're the best player ever!".

Finally, one last in-game reference to the player was given in Super Mario Worlds Funky level, which featured a formation of coins that spelled out the phrase "YOU ARE A SUPER PLAYER!!".

In Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Galaxy 2, after the game is completed, Mario will say, "Thank you so much for playing my game!"

Sometimes the word player is also used to mean "Extra Life", as seen in the Super Mario World instruction booklet.

You have to make all the flovers appear in 1 punch of the hammer ore the glitch wont work. Then complete the level with 1 fire flower in your sticker book. Then go to a batte that have at least have 2 enimies where you can get a perfect battle with the fire flower. If you did the steps corecly you will now hear gay music

DK leaves the house, but also takes the Crystal Coconut with him. General Klump and Krusha leave the house too.

A Super Star (or Party Star in Mario Party 4) is, by definition, "the biggest star". However, after a dispute between Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong during the course of Mario Party, Toad created a specific definition for the term and outlined a method by which the title of Super Star could accurately be granted. Although his method set out to determine a single Super Star, in the end the title was jointly earned by all six of the disputers. The six currently hold the title.

Although his method set out to determine a single Super Star, in the end the title was jointly earned by all six of the disputers. The six currently hold the title.

Presented with a great argument between Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong regarding which of them was the Super Star, Toad took a logical approach to the term. The results of his thinking created the current definition of the term as well as the method by which one could become a Super Star.
Presented with a great argument between Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong regarding which of them was the Super Star, Toad took a logical approach to the term. The results of his thinking created the current definition of the term as well as the method by which one could become a Super Star. (Toad spent three days in a mathematical Harvard study without taking a single break researching how logical the title "Super Star" can be and then he came up with the conclusion that Super Stars are the winners of the board!)

According to Toad’s definition, the four qualities required of a Super Star are strength, courage, wisdom, and kindness. Toad then concluded that the only way the group could measure these qualities and their effectiveness in making one a Super Star by challenging each other to acts of goodwill. The results of these battles to help others could be used to accurately reveal who was the Super Star.

While the term has generally been accepted as meaning "the biggest star," no one had ever definitively declared the Super Star due to the vast number of stars in the Mushroom World. When Mario gathers five of his closest friends together for a party during the events of Mario Party, the issue arises as to what "the biggest star" actually means. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong each consider themselves to be Super Stars, but the term implies that there can only be one.

After the argument escalates with no progress, Toad begins to look at the concept logically in order to calm his friends, creating his definition and method detailed above. Upon hearing this, the six friends head to Mushroom Village through the village's central Warp Pipe. The fruits of their labors assist seven different lands and yield them one hundred Stars in total. After battling Bowser and his minions upon the broken Eternal Star, Mario and his friends jointly earn the title, and still hold it to this day.

The results of these battles to help others could be used to accurately reveal who was the Super Star. (So kick the crap out of your buddies that you were once friends with!)

Wario is HOT
The title is a double entendre. It can also be taken to mean that Wario is sexually appealing. However, as Wario definitely does not have sexual traits deemed attractive by the general female population, it is safe to dismiss that idea as a hidden joke of sorts by the developers of the game.

What does the Stained Glass Window in Creepy Steple means
An unlockable is a character, item, or stage that is not available from the start of a game. They are "locked" in a game, and have to be "unlocked" through certain means, usually a challenge of some sort, or by picking up a special item in a specific stage. Once they have been unlocked, they can be played with throughout the rest of the game.
In Paper Mario:The Thousand Year Door What does the stained glass window in Creepy Steeple mean?

Spin-off games usually have a large amount of unlockables, and have more unlockables than main-stream games. Unlockable stages usually have more gimmicks, or they are larger than the default stages, and are commonly more interesting than the default stages. Unlockable items may be more powerful than the default items. Unlockable characters may or may not be more powerful or better to use than the default characters, depending on their abilities.

Wowser is an expression Luigi uses in Mario Golf:Toadstool Tour example.

Wario is immortal and can't lose lives (since there are none).
'Nice shot, Wowser!' which actually means, 'nice shot bowser!'

Yoshi's Island Spring Water
Yoshi's Island Spring Water is water found in Yoshi's Island during Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. There were Yoshi statues around the island, and one of the had a hole where the spring water was coming out.

Next to the statue was a sign that read "Yoshi's Island Spring Water. A healthy yummy drink ideal for growing kids! Remember: Drink like a pig...and your belly will get big!"

Baby Mario must drink some of this water to get full of water, and then make Baby Luigi hammer him and then Baby Mario will spit the water out. This move is useful in many areas.
