[[Captain Goomba (Mario & Luigi series)|Captain Goomba]] and [[Captain Shy Guy (Mario & Luigi series)|Captain Shy Guy]] attempt to enter [[Beanbean Castle Town]], which had recently been attacked by [[Fawful]], when they are stopped by a [[Lakitu]] who informs the two captains that they need more allies. Just as he is about to offer to look for more minions, though, he is captured by a brainwashed [[Larry Koopa|Larry]] and is taken to his hideout. They battle [[Lakipea]]s and [[Paratroopea]]s in this mission. Afterwards, Captain Goomba, who cannot work around the fact that the [[Koopalings]] are brainwashed, decides to unbrainwash and recruit them one by one.
