===Chapter bosses===
===Bowser and Kammy Koopa===
Bowser and Kammy Koopa are the main antagonists of the game. Bowser is fought at the very beginning of the story, where he inevitably wins, and is then fought twice at the very end; the first time as normal and then after Kammy increases his power. Kammy herself is fought during the ending, but only by Princess Peach and Twink.

===Jr. Troopa===
The game's most recurring boss, [[Jr. Troopa]] has his own theme music and subplot, and as such is treated separately from standard miniboss encounters. Each time he appears, he gains a new ability to use in battle.

===The Master===
[[The Master]] acts as the game's "superboss," an optional boss that is far stronger than any other fight in the game, including the standard final boss. Like Jr. Troopa, he has his own battle theme. He can be fought multiple times at virtually any point in the game, being stronger for each fight.
