Introduction
The player, as well as any Piranha Plants and Podoboos, pop out of the Warp Pipes and lava before the minigame starts.
Gameplay
Players must attempt to reach the goal line at the end using a pogo stick. They have to avoid hazards such as falling in the lava, getting bitten by Piranha Plants that pop out from pipes and hit by Podoboos that pop out from the lava. If players touch one of the hazards, they lose.
Players can tell if a Piranha Plant will come out of its pipe or not. If a Piranha Plant pokes the tip of its lips out and gnaws, it will come out of its pipe. If the Piranha Plant does not gnaw, the Piranha Plant will remain in its pipe. Additionally, Piranha Plants appear in only green pipes.
