Is it possible that Hooktail faked her death in a last ditch attempt to escape Mario? I think she did. When you are talking to Koopley, Hooktail's foot keeps moving. When you come back, Hooktail's body is gone. There is no way Ms. Mowz, or anyone for that matter, could have dragged Hooktail's body out of the castle. If she is still alive, and finds out about what Mario did to Gloomtail, and Bonetail, she may seek revenge..............

No, not really. I'm pretty sure Hooktail would be steaming mad if she was flying back to its room and she found the people who killed her in there taking her stuff (you can only Tattle the room after the chapter is over, I think. People probably won't come back until Ms. Mowz trouble, so yeah) and I'm sure you'd be too. I can confirm that in all versions of the game except English, Hooktail hates frog croaks instead of cricket chirps, thus making the following statement inaccurate:
