| The "YYYY / MM / DD" and "YYYY / MM" readings literally make no sense to me. | #{{User|Jdtendo}} The MM/DD/YYYY date format is basically only used in Northern America, and is very confusing to more or less the rest of the world because the DD/MM/YYYY format is much more widespread, including in English-speaking countries such as UK and Australia. | #{{User|Camwoodstock}} Per Jdtendo especially--while MM/DD/YYYY is the standard in American English (which is what the wiki uses for the most part), it is absolutely ''not'' the global standard; and in this case, we don't see any harm in specifically using the global standard over the American English standard. It doesn't take that much effort to understand if you're accustomed to the American English way, whereas anyone who doesn't will already have zero problems understanding the dates. | #{{User|YoYo}} when asking about when games release, the year is the most important part: its literally the thing people will be asking about the most. and as for the "standard" replacement of MM/DD/YYYY, that's used far less than the most common format: DD/MM/YYYY. That, however, is irrelevant. what is relevant is the fact that the year is the most crucial information. so keep it as it is.
| |
| #{{User|LadySophie17}} YYYY/MM/DD is standard for ordering things chronologically. Also I am morally obligated to oppose MM/DD/YYYY.

| == A couple Flash games ==
| |
|
| |
| Ok, so there's a couple flash games I saw that don't seem to have pages. The first one is called "Crafty Collage Maker", in which you make a scene using a bunch of different cardboard-esque sprites from the game (Yoshi's Crafted World). The second and third are the Mcdonalds flash games, known as "Mario's Driving Range" and "Jammin' with Mario". Not much is known about these, but they were licensed by Nintendo. The fourth is "WarioWare Advergame". (at least, that's the title of the page on Flashpoint). It's a mini collection of microgames. The fifth is "WarioWare Touched!: Find Wario and Friends". This is a Where's Waldo-esque game where you have to click on different characters from the Wario franchise. That's it. | |
| Ok, There's a few more. The first one is called "Read the Unfinished Donkey Kong Country Story and Finish the Adventure!". You read the first 6 frames of a Donkey Kong Country story and then drag and drop pictures to finish the story. second is "Lego Super Mario Find The Pairs". It's a Lego Mario-themed matching game. | Should these systems and games have pages? these systems were used in stores and hotels in Japan, and featured a few Mario games (FamicomBox: Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Golf, Wrecking Crew, and Punch-Out!! Super FamicomBox: Super Mario Kart, Super Mario Collection, Super Donkey Kong). While these are basically ports of the aforementioned games, there was a slight(?) difference. The games released for the system were either a) demos or b) pay-to-play games, depending on the system. [[User:Nelsonic|Nelsonic]] ([[User talk:Nelsonic|talk]]) 15:39, July 22, 2024 (EDT)

| == Some HTML, Flash, and Shockwave games ==
| |
|
| |
| Hi!
| |
|
| |
| I found a couple HTML5 and Adobe Shockwave games that do not have pages (plus an Adobe Flash game).
| |
|
| |
| First, Which Mushroom Kingdom Character Would Be Your BFF (Not to be confused with the Play Nintendo game known as Who's Your Mushroom Kingdom BFF)? This is a HTML game that was on the Disney Now app.
| |
|
| |
| Second, Lego Super Mario Find The Pairs. I am adding this in here again as I put it in with the Flash games last time, when it is actually an HTML game.
| |
|
| |
| Third, Donkey Kong Country Family Portrait/Create-n-Send a Donkey Kong Country Family Portrait. You take various DKC characters and place them onto one of three backgrounds, and then you can send the resulting image to a friend. There is a article on TCRF for more info: https://tcrf.net/Create-n-Send_a_Donkey_Kong_Country_Family_Portrait (This was Adobe Flash).
| |
|
| |
| Fourth, Welcome to Nintendo World! This was for Nintendo's 1998 Company Report. You can click around through both the "Future" and "Nintendo Museum" sections, which bring up a submenu where you can pick from a list of either future or past Nintendo games. Clicking on one brings up a video of the corresponding game, along with some text. This was an Adobe Shockwave game.
| |
|
| |
| Fifth, Paint Boy. This was an Adobe Shockwave game where you can choose from a few different "screens" for a Game Boy Color (some of these feature Mario characters), and then paint the Game Boy Color.
| |
|
| |
| Sixth, NintendoVIP Star Catalog Home Live Wallpaper. This Flash game allows you to click around through a hotel area. The main room features a cardboard-looking statue of Donkey Kong, and the corridor features a Paper Mario-esque Toad eating wallpaper(?).
| |
|
| |
| Seventh, ファミコン 全国一斉クイズ 練習 (or Famicom Zenkoku Issei Quiz Renshuu). This is an HTML game that takes the form of a quiz about various Famicom games. There is a 30 second time limit per question. It is possible to take this quiz once a month at certain times (whilst being logged in to your Nintendo account). The provided screenshot is from an example video of the quiz found on the site.
| |
|
| |
| Eighth, Mario & Luigi Joke Spinner. I couldn't find any concrete evidence that this is official, though it looks like it is (there's GBA copyright stuff in the bottom right, screenshots of the game come up when you land on the "?" on the wheel).

| == Found some extremely obscure Banpresto arcade games ==
| |
|
| |
| Hello, I am brand new to this wiki. (As in joining like a few hours ago). So if I do something here that is against the guidelines, my apologies. I don't intend on doing anything wrong. I just want to make this wiki even more comprehensive then it already is.
| |
|
| |
| Anyways, a couple months ago I was researching Japan-exclusive Mario arcade games from the 90's, trying to find more information about them. And I stumbled across some that have little to no documentation on the internet. Even less than the ones on this wiki. So I am taking this opportunity as a member on this wiki to reveal my discoveries.
| |
|
| |
| The first batch of games I found was from the Undumped Wiki. A wiki documenting games that haven't been dumped onto the internet. Including 3 games that haven't been documented on the wiki.
| |
|
| |
| First, we have Mario no Daibouken. Which was released in 1991 according to the wiki. The only mention of this machine in anything ever is on page 20 in the 398th issue of Game Machine magazine. Thats it. Its just the Undumped Wiki, and Game Machine. There's not even an image of it.
| |
|
| |
| Here's a link to the page: https://undumped.miraheze.org/wiki/Mario_no_Daibouken
| |
|
| |
| Next is something really interesting. A Super Mario World-themed balloon vending machine. This seemed to come out around the same time as the popcorn machine (that being 1993, even though the wiki page says 1992). Just like with Mario no Daibouken, the Undumped Wiki's source for the existence of this machine is an issue of Game Machine, this time it's page 23 of issue 459. And we actually get to see it! Even though its low quality. But if that isn't enough, I found this image of another magazine which has a mock up of the machine with the popcorn machine alongside it.
| |
|
| |
| Here's the link to the Undumped Wiki page: https://undumped.miraheze.org/wiki/Super_Mario_World_Balloon_vending_machine
| |
|
| |
| And here's the image I found: https://auctions.c.yimg.jp/images.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/image/dr000/auc0505/users/c8fe662bb4dd3d28b4611af86cd4ae7e04a6b65f/i-img1198x898-17158360265dlirj1286.jpg
| |
|
| |
| Lastly, I'm not sure if this is a completely different game on its own, or if its just a prototype version of an already existing arcade game. But according to the Undumped Wiki, this is an original game. That being “Go! Go! Mario Circuit”. This is nearly identical to Super Mario Kart: Doki Doki Race. But the track is different. There's also an “argument” if you want to call it that on the Doki Doki Race talk page in a request to change the name to Go! Go! Mario Circuit. The only way we can tell if this is a prototype of Doki Doki Race is seeing one out in the wild. Will definitely do more research on this.
| |
|
| |
| Here's a link to the Undumped Wiki page: https://undumped.miraheze.org/wiki/Go!_Go!_Mario_Circuit
| |
|
| |
| The other and last batch of games I found weren't from wikis, but rather my research. These arcade games might be the most obscure Mario games ever created.
| |
|
| |
| First, we have not one, nor two, but four arcade games based on Yoshi's Island. I can't figure out the names of these things, but the first one I know goes along the lines of “Yoshi's Island: Magical Seven”. Which looks like a typical slot machine.
| |
|
| |
| Here's an image I found: https://auc-pctr.c.yimg.jp/i/auctions.c.yimg.jp/images.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/image/dr000/auc0505/users/c8fe662bb4dd3d28b4611af86cd4ae7e04a6b65f/i-img767x1024-1715831692i4olv61135.jpg?pri=l&w=300&h=300&up=0&nf_src=sy&nf_path=images/auc/pc/top/image/1.0.3/na_170x170.png&nf_st=200
| |
|
| |
| The other 3 I couldn't figure out the names. The first one seems to feature light up colored squares. Can't figure out the gameplay unfortunately. The second looks to have gameplay similar to Janken Fukubiki: Super Mario World. And the third one also looks to be a slot machine. Strangly, the image I found heavily featured school supplies as if you could win them from the machines. I don't know Japanese so maybe someone out there could translate these.
| |
|
| |
| Here's the image: https://auctions.c.yimg.jp/images.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/image/dr000/auc0505/users/c8fe662bb4dd3d28b4611af86cd4ae7e04a6b65f/i-img1198x898-1715834100emekix30.jpg
| |
|
| |
| And lastly for this post, I found a Donkey Kong Country themed roulette machine. Don't know anything about it except it was made by Banpresto and it has Donkey Kong characters.
| |
|
| |
| Here's the image (sorry for low quality): https://auc-pctr.c.yimg.jp/i/auctions.c.yimg.jp/images.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/image/dr000/auc0507/users/c8fe662bb4dd3d28b4611af86cd4ae7e04a6b65f/i-img767x1024-1722231358rwqhob264776.jpg?pri=l&w=300&h=300&up=0&nf_src=sy&nf_path=images/auc/pc/top/image/1.0.3/na_170x170.png&nf_st=200
| |
|
| |
| And thats it! Of course, due to all of these coming from magazines or flyers, we don't know if any of these were released. But I wouldn't be surprised if they did considering how little we know of any of these. Once again, sorry if I somehow break the wiki rules, I know how strict they are and I just joined. Thank you for reading this.

| |
|
| |
| "Mario is Missing!" for the NES is missing the release date for the European release which is October 1993 according to the page for the game, the page has a reference (reference #4) to a link with it but there isn't actually a link so I'm not sure if that's the problem, but if this were to be added to the page, it would probably look like this:

| ==Donkey Kong Commodore INTV Port==
| |
|
| |
| I don’t really want to post another thing in a talk page I already commented on without any resolution yet, but this has been bugging me for years and I need to set the record straight.
| |
|
| |
| On the list, there’s a listing for a port of Donkey Kong for something called a "Commodore INTV". But when you try to find anything about such console, you’ll find nothing. The link it sends you is the Wikipedia page for the Commodore company, which mentions nothing on such computer even existing. Making the link pointless.
| |
|
| |
| And I’m not the only one who noticed this. Because, as it turns out, you will get one result about this supposed computer. And its someone on Reddit asking people what it is for the reason of there being a Donkey Kong port on it.
| |
|
| |
| So does this thing even exist? There is a chance it could be referring to the European version of the Commodore 64 port, which is different enough for it to be its own entry, but I doubt it because nowhere besides this wiki considers it to even exist. Its like the Famicom to the NES. You’ll find stuff if you search for "Famicom" because thats the Japanese name for the NES.
| |
|
| |
| Please do something about this. I’m tired of this likely non-existent game being on this page.

| ==Update on Banpresto findings==
| |
| So 2 weeks ago, I posted my findings on Banpresto machines on this page. Since then I found this website that has new information on some of those machines, and it’s pretty major.
| |
|
| |
| Here’s the website: https://thetastates.com/eremeka/eremekaDisplay.php?search=yes&company=Banpresto
| |
|
| |
| This website seemingly documents Banpresto machines, with some being the Mario ones I documented last time. So here are some updates that I want to make.
| |
|
| |
| Firstly, Go! Go! Mario Circuit, while it isn’t on here it does show off a prototype of Doki Doki Race thats different from Go! Go! Mario Circuit, which raises even more questions since it’s believed that Doki Doki Race was a prototype of Go! Go! Mario Circuit and vice versa. So thats more evidence that such game exists, somewhere.
| |
|
| |
| And now for a big one, remember those Yoshi’s Island machines I found last time? Well the rock-paper-scissors and roulette ones is listed on the website with more information! The rock-paper-scissors one is called “Can Can Club Super Mario Yoshi’s Island” and roulette one is called “Mazukar Seven Super Mario Yoshi’s Island”. We also got release dates for those, 1996.
| |
|
| |
| And thats all I got for now. I’ll try to do more research on these and I’ll update you all again if I find anything important.
| |

| == e-Reader Fun Match ==
| |
|
| |
| Hi!
| |
|
| |
| I just came across an Adobe Flash game that does not have a page. It is called e-Reader Fun Match (some of the cards available for matching feature images of either the box art or the screen of Donkey Kong Jr.), and was published by FEKids, an edutainment website(?) that eventually evolved into Funbrain. FEKids also published Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga Joke Spinner, which features a good bit of Nintendo copyright information at the bottom, making me think it is likely that this game is official as well.
