| Okay, so I believe that this section in the tables is not noteworthy. Seeing as out of 41 characters in the game, only two character are starting characters in the mode (Mario and Luigi), that description is not noteworthy. 39 out of 41 characters are unlockable in that mode so that sure is a huge proportion. My suggestion is to stop listing that detail due to it not being noteworthy. Non-noteworthy things that are not noteworthy in this same way in the trivia sections of articles get removed so why do we have this? | | Okay, so I believe that this section in the tables is not noteworthy. | #Ghost Jam - More, accurate information is better than less, per standard Wiki editing practices.
| |
| #Walkazo - Per Ghost Jam. Plus, acting as if there needs to be a cutoff number of default players before the rest can be called "unlockable" is a judgment call without any canon basis whatsoever, and thus, has no place on the wiki.
| |
| #Boo4761 Per all, WHERE are we supposed to put the unlocking crieta?
| |
| #Glitchy Bowser Jr. Per all.
| |
| #Madz the Penguin Per all, thanks for making that clear. We say Birdley is a combination of the words bird and Toadley because even if it's very obvious, it's useful information. Same with saying who's unlockable and who isn't. Ratios don't matter; if it's useful, it's going in. We don't assume our reader's IQ here.

| :::That's a good reason, but is this proposal really necessary? This is a wiki: a place where anyone can edit information. Unless it's about something nobody cares about, there are always people that can fix the information. That doesn't mean you can call Peach a swear word or say how bad Bowser's plans are on the wiki, but it means that you can fix an encyclopedia without filling the books with pen marks and sticky notes. Don't worry if you fix the tables without a proposal; there's always somebody who can fix it right up. Proposals are mostly for merging pages, creating pages, editing the Mario Wiki guidelines, and other debatable stuff like that. Madz the Penguin (talk) 21:23, 17 November 2014 (EST)
| |
| ::::Generally speaking, any topic that would effect a handful of pages, involve longstanding traditions, spark new discussions on touchy topics or otherwise bring about a more than slightly editorial change are all candidates for proposals. There is a lot of wiggle room built into the process so we can shut down proposals on banned topics or to just give an automatic administrative green light, but by and large we prefer that a topic be brought to at least an administrator if it has potentially long reaching consequences.
| |
|
| |
| ::::Further, some of your assertions are off, but they aren't unreasonable assumptions. Mergers normally only need proposals if they are going to cause problems, creating articles do not need proposals (and are normally closed via Rule 15, but exceptions do exist) and Wiki policy/guideline proposals are normally closed on sight and move to administrative discussion.
| |
|
| |
| ::::For the proposal specifically, it started out looking like a standard "stuff needs to be gone" editorial issue. Removals that aren't part of the normal curating process are routinely brought to the community before steps are taken for several reasons. As it turns out, it looks like it was data that was either intended to be added to the lot or was for some reason removed from the lot, with a couple stragglers that missed the purge. It's also opened us up to the greater issue that many of our character page charts need to be improved. -- Ghost Jam 06:07, 22 November 2014 (EST)

| My opinion: It's better if we clarify who's default in every mode except Challenge. Think Challenge Mode like the Subspace Emissary, both can unlock all characters and not every otherwise-default character is available. Otherwise, listing these characters as "unlockable" is confusing, and we don't want that. But either way, this doesn't really call for any major changes, especially considering that few pages have the silly detail anyway. 23:17, 17 November 2014 (EST)
| |
|
| |
| :So what do you think we should do with this proposal? Most of us agreed that it was unnecessary, so should we end it before the deadline? Madz the Penguin (talk) 00:34, 20 November 2014 (EST)
| |
| ::Maybe support it or something. 00:47, 20 November 2014 (EST)
| |
| :As the proposal seems like it is going to fail, I'm thinking I might just add more detail to the tags to make them more clear instead when it passes it's deadline. 07:16, 27 November 2014 (EST)

| Where inside or outside of the game do I find the answer for the "point difference in a mercy game in baseball"? By "inside/outside of the game", I mean like EG, "how many gondolas are on the Ferris wheel?" I can solve that by going to the ferris wheel in Yoshi Park and looking at it. The answer is six. But for "how many tentacles does Blooper have?", the answer is ten. Because in general, despite seeing eight tentacles on Blooper, it's referring to squids in general biology. Squids have 10 tentacles in real life so the answer is ten. So where inside or outside of the game can I find the answer for the number of points scored when the mercy rule is activated/in use? Also, this question won't let me pass: "if you have a koopa, paratroopa, paragoomba, and boo, how many wings do you have?". I keep punching in 8 as 4 characters X 2 wings = 8 wings total. Help me please on this as well.--50.67.188.79 19:46, 21 July 2016 (EDT)
| |
| :First of all, it's four wings, as only two of the mentioned characters have wings. Second, I believe the mercy point difference is 10? *looks it up* Yeah, that sounds right. 20:31, 21 July 2016 (EDT)

| == References to other games ==
| |
|
| |
| I think this needs a "References to other games" section. Baby Peach appears as a playable character, and, that's a reference to Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Should we add that section? 15:45, 24 September 2017 (EDT)
| |
| :That in and of itself is not a reference. Otherwise, Mario would be a reference to Donkey Kong. 15:46, 24 September 2017 (EDT)

| == Different scout missions? ==
| |
|
| |
| Hi, all. I mostly play Mario Super Sluggers with the Wii Remote held upright, not sideways or with the Nunchuk.
| |
| I saw that to recruit Paragoomba, that his scout mission is to "Get an out with a ball dash!" However, I just played the game in Challenge Mode tonight, and for me, Paragoomba's scout mission was to "Steal a home run with a buddy jump!" This is not the only scout mission that has differed for me; should I add it in as an additional scout mission that could be provided?
| |
| Thanks, all. Mari0fan100 (talk) 01:24, January 7, 2024 (EST)
| |
| :Sure. When I put those on there, I was using a YouTube longplay and corroborating with other videos to make sure it wasn't fully randomized, I guess there is still some variation. | |
| ::After looking at some YouTube videos, it seems that the scout missions differ between players who play the game with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk and players who just play with the Wii Remote upright. For example, instead of having to "lay down a squeeze bunt", I had to "bunt to advance the runner". Mari0fan100 (talk) 02:37, January 7, 2024 (EST)
