Track Star is a 1-vs.-3 mini-game in Mario Party DS. One player chases the other three on a Toy Steamer, on a track with three forks. The three runners each choose one way, as well as the player on the Toy Steamer. If the Toy Steamer does not choose the same path as any of the runners, they will lose a chance to ram them. If it does have at least one player to ram, they can speed up to knock the player(s) away. The steamer has 5 seconds to try to ram players. The three players that are running must tap 2 buttons repeatedly and simultaneously if they are caught to avoid get knocked away.

Single Player:

D-pad- Select a track

Introduction
ds- Press rapidly to speed up
The group players are walking down a track, only to be surprised as the soloist comes up on their trail with a Steamer. They run down the track as their opponent follows in hot pursuit.

Gameplay
Team Players:
One player chases the other three by using a toy Steamer on a track with three forks. The three runners each choose a path, as well as the player on the toy Steamer. The objective of the group players is to avoid being rammed off the track, while the solo player must eliminate the group players by picking the same path as them and then speeding up to hit them. Upon picking the same path as any group players, the solo character has five seconds to try to ram them; the group player(s) in question must tap two buttons simultaneously repeatedly to avoid getting knocked away. (The group players who picked the path that the soloist did not pick board a minecart to watch the chase.) The solo player wins if they ram all three opponents off the track, while the group players win if any of them survive through all three rounds.

Ending
D-pad- Select a track
If the soloist wins, they disembark from the train and celebrate. If the team players win, the soloist gets stunned as their train collides with a barricade that the group players jump over, narrowly escaping being crushed. The group players then celebrate their victory.
