Less? They're actually receiving more information, like what exactly a sysop is, and it holds appeal towards more experienced wikiers as well. Any user that may want his or her own welcome template should feel free to make their own, this doesn't make me feel special, its merely a more personal approach to the welcoming process. If you have any complaints about anything in particular in the template, you may voice your concern. As for all users being equal, I agree, but I want to point out who's talking "Mr. Oligarchy."Saudy^Talk!

Concerns

• Personal approach makes it seemed biased. The basic template provides all the information.
• Varying welcome templates affects the users, which is not good at all.

Well, the current welcome template has several concerns of its own. The good thing about a persoanl welcome temp. is that the person laying out the template onto a talk page is actually ONLINE at the time. This was also a lot of work to set up, and I wonder how the differences affect new users, could you elaborate?Saudy^Talk!

I have everything from the original template, but have added the definition of sysop, added about PPs and Pipe Plaza. The PPTDS link is an EXAMPLE.Saudy^Talk!

Then why don't you add it to the normal welcome template? If not, users welcomed by you are biased towards raising back a partily-dead and completely dead project. Wa _T^C_@^Y 14:44, 3 June 2007 (EDT)

And you don't see the point of showing them the Plaza? If the concept is displayed towards newer users, they're interest in the project may spark up and revitalize it. You don't understand this? I removed the link to Toads, as its inclusion here was really more of a joke anyway.Saudy^Talk!

I also took Aipom's suggestion and added about patrollers. The recipient would be recieving more information in my version than others.Saudy^Talk!

Bravo, looks good, but to make everyone happy, why don't you make a link to all sysops and patrollers, say that they can ask for help, and explain the powers so a new user doesn't ask a patroller to delete an article.-- Aipom --
