This level is based around Snake Blocks, similar to the design of 7. There are also Spiked Balls and Fire Bars found throughout the level to impede the player's progress.

The level starts off on solid ground. Walking forwards reveal the Snake Block, which then travels in a staircase-like pattern through a group of Fire Bars. The Snake Block then passes through a narrow corridor covered in spikes, also containing Fire Bars; as the spikes does not allow the player to jump, they must instead stall with good timing to avoid the Fire Bars and also not fall off the Snake Block onto the spikes below. Afterwards, the Snake Block travel upwards, heading into another spiky narrow corridor. Past this second corridor is the level's midway point.

After the midway point, the Snake Block continuously loops around over a floor covered in spikes. There is a Red Ring available here. Eventually the Snake Block heads upwards in another staircase pattern, and then head right through another corridor with Fire Bars. The Snake Block then turns sharply upwards, with a Spiked Ball suddenly rushing out and hitting the Snake Block as it ascends. The Snake Block then turns left and loop again, along with a second Spiked Ball landing on them. They then ascend upwards again, and the player must be careful to avoid additional Spiked Balls and spiked walls as they do so. After one last steep ascension, the Snake Block stops in front of the boss door.

Beyond the boss door is Bowser Jr., in his last solo fight. He is fought on a standard arena, though Podoboos continuously rise up and fall down on both ends. Upon his defeat, another bridge is built outside of the castle; this leads to 8, the final level of the game.
