An Intern Shroob is a smaller, light-colored Shroob that rides on the back of its elderly counterpart, a Shroobsworth. Intern Shroobs ride piggyback style, similar to how the Baby Mario Bros. hold on to their older counterparts. Intern Shroobs, along with Shroobsworths, were assigned to protect the halls of Shroob Castle, the Shroob's base of operations on Mushroom World. The two Shroobs would work together in combat to defeat intruders.

In a battle, an Intern Shroob could aid its Shroobsworth by firing energy blasts from a cannon and by tossing dark meteors at castle intruders. However, once the Shroobsworth is defeated, the Intern Shroob will knock the elderly Shroob out of the battlefield and continue the fight in the elder's place (just like when an older Mario brother falls, his younger self will takes his place). Strangely, the Intern Shroob will not directly fight its opponents; instead, the young Shroob will use a bio-engineered 1-Up Mushroom to revive its fallen comrade. Once revived, the Intern Shroob will get back on the Shroobsworth's back and continue the battle as a team. As such, Intern Shroobs should be eliminated quickly before they can revive their elderly counterparts. Luckily, for some reason, after the Shroobsworth dies, the Intern Shroob will spend an entire turn doing nothing at all, and will only revive their Toadsworth-like comrades on the second turn, giving the Mario Quartet more time to defeat the Intern Shroob.

Coincidentally, "Intern Shroob" rhymes with "in turn" Shroob, just like how the intern takes over Shroobsworth's turn (or place).

Template:Pitenemy An Intern Shroob is a smaller, light-colored Shroob that rides on the back a Shroobsworth. Intern Shroobs ride piggyback style, similar to how the Baby Mario Bros. hold on to their older counterparts. Intern Shroobs are found Shroob Castle, with Shroobsworths.

In a battle, an Intern Shroob aids a Shroobsworth by firing energy blasts from a cannon and by tossing dark meteors. However, once the Shroobsworth is defeated, the Intern Shroob knocks the Shroobsworth out and continue the fight in place (just as when an adult Mario brother falls, his younger self takes his place). The Intern Shroob does not directly fight its opponents. After the Shroobsworth gets defeated, the Intern Shroob will spend an entire turn doing nothing; instead, it uses a bio-engineered 1-Up Mushroom to revive the Shroobsworth. Once revived, the Intern Shroob gets back on the Shroobsworth's back and continues the battle as a team.

Coincidentally, "Intern Shroob" rhymes with "in turn" Shroob, just like how the intern takes over Shroobsworth's turn (or place).
