The Veranda is the first location encountered in the Treacherous Mansion, the fifth mansion that Luigi visits during the events of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. From the Veranda, Luigi is able to access the inside of the mansion via the front door. The area starts off with a large white gate, after which there are some concrete rafters that Luigi must balance on to get across a large chasm safely and reach the mansion's entrance. To the left of the entrance are some tombstones and a small flight of stairs leading down to an area with a well, a doghouse, and more stairs, at the bottom of which is an opening that allows Luigi to see into the Guard Tunnel. Luigi can access the Bottom of Well by using the vacuum on the Poltergust 5000 to pull an invisible chain in the well, which is revealed by using the Dark-Light Device. In mission E-1: Front-Door Key, a Polterpup grabs and runs off with the key to the front door before Luigi can open it, and he must track the Polterpup down in order to get it back.
