Iggy (film character)
Iggy as he appears in Super Mario Bros.

Iggy is a cousin and henchmen of President Koopa in the Super Mario Bros. movie. His full name is Ignatius. He and his other cousin, Spike, refer to themselves as "The Super Koopa Cousins" when pitching a video game based on their life experiences. Iggy is divorced and ends up lending his ex-wife's clothes to Luigi so that he could fit in at the Boom Boom Bar.

Iggy is based on Bowser's former in-game son, Iggy Koopa, but while the names are similar, they have almost nothing in common.

Iggy and Spike are always together as they serve King Koopa. While they often bicker and abuse each other, they also think alike, forming schemes and even finishing each other's sentences on occasion. Iggy claims to be the "brains" of the duo, though neither of them are very smart. Eventually, Koopa gets fed up with their ineptitude and evolves his cousins to the "Advanced" level; once in possession of a much higher intelligence, Iggy eventually turns on Koopa, as does Spike. They make a deal with Mario and Luigi, and eventually meet up with Princess Daisy. They claim they were always her loyal supporters, and lead her to her father, before fleeing Koopa Tower. They are never seen again after that event.
