The First Strike is a technique found in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. This technique is mentioned by Goompa as he quickly tells this tip to Mario. To do a First Strike on one of the enemies, Mario can simply Jump on the enemy or hitting it with a Hammer; depending if the enemy has spikes or not. It helps to hurt the enemy or enemies when Mario gets the First Strike when it comes to battling with them.
The First Strike is also used by many enemies, for example; if a Koopa Troops gets in it's shell and spins quickly to Mario, Mario will get hit by the First Strike, causing Mario to use HP if the enemy makes the First Strike to him.
