The cycle of Bean Fruit, as told by Fava in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
Fava explains how Neon Eggs are made.

Neon Eggs are an important item from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. During the events of the game, Boddle offers Mario and Luigi a piece of the Beanstar, but only if they can find seven Neon Eggs to decorate his Yoshi Theater sign. To learn about how to get these, the Bros. need to speak to Fava, who is sitting in front of the projection screen of Yoshi Theater. Fava explains that the Bros. can get Neon Eggs by digging up Bean Fruits and giving them to the various Yoshis around the theater, who will then lay these eggs. So, the Mario Bros. are put to the task of finding seven Bean Fruits buried throughout the Beanbean Kingdom. After finding them all, the two heroes are able to give the special fruit to the Yoshis. This causes the dinosaurs to burst with happiness, and each lays a bright Neon Egg. When the Mario Bros. present these seven eggs to Boddle, he willingly gives them the Beanstar piece they seek, enabling them to continue on their quest.
