Gene (full name Gene Yuss) is one of the human golfers in Mario Golf Series and Mario Golf: Advance Tour. Gene appears suave, intelligent, and sophiscated, if not arrogant and self-absorbed. He constantly speaks in third person ("The Gene"), and is very protective and competitive about his singles title. When a threat arises, he immediately loses his cool and begins to panic.
