The Flag is an item in the NES release of Mario's Time Machine. It is the flag of the United States of America that was planted on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. It is then stolen by a time-traveling Bowser and placed in his museum next to other stolen items. Mario then steals it back from some Koopa Troopas in the museum, travels back in time to the Moon, and plants it next to the Apollo Lunar Module. A news article then congratulates Mario for helping the United States of America claim the first landing on the Moon.
