The Patch is an item found in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. Funky Kong needs it in order to patch up the hole in his Hover Craft.
When Dixie and Kiddy Kong defeat Arich in Kremwood Forest, the giant spider will drop a Patch. As the only area beyond Kremwood Forest is Blunder's booth, it's best for them to find a use for the patch. Should they return to Funky's Rentals, Funky himself will exclaim that the Patch is just the thing he needs to fix up up his Hover Craft. With the Hover Craft mended, Funky Kong will allow the Kongs to use it, so that they can continue onwards in their journey.
