Iggy Koopa is the cousin and henchmen of President Koopa in the Super Mario Bros. movie. After evolution, his cousin, Spike, refers to him as Ignatius.[1] Iggy is based on the Koopaling Iggy Koopa. While the names are similar, the only thing the two have in common is the fact that he is a high-ranking minion of King Koopa.

Iggy and Spike are always together as they serve King Koopa. While they often bicker and abuse each other, they also think alike, forming schemes and even finishing each other's sentences on occasion. Iggy claims to be the "brains" of the duo, though initially neither of them is very smart. Eventually, Koopa gets fed up with their ineptitude and evolves his cousins to the "Advanced" level; once in possession of a much higher intelligence, Iggy eventually turns on Koopa, as does Spike, although they are still somewhat incompetent. They make a deal with Mario and Luigi, and Iggy ends up lending his ex-wife's clothes to Luigi so that he could fit in at the Boom Boom Bar and find Big Bertha. Eventually, they meet up with Princess Daisy. They claim they were always her loyal supporters, and lead her to her father before fleeing Koopa's Tower.

They are never seen again after that event until after the credits, where he and Spike come up with the "Super Koopa Cousins" name when pitching a video game to Japanese businessmen based on their life experiences.
