Can this thing fly? The artwork suggests it.

Doesn't seem like it, but it can jump of gaps.

Petting

Is it worth mentioning that if you use the Gamepad to pet Plessie, it will give you some coins? (I believe the sprixies do this as well but I can't remember).

Yeah, why not mention it? Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 19:17, 24 November 2013 (EST)

Could It Be A Yoshi

It Is A Dinosaur like Yoshi Could it be related to Yoshi in anyway

It doesn't look like it is. ~~ Boo4761

I think he's simply a member of a rare subspecies of Yoshi. Each member of said subspecies is noticeably larger than other Yoshis, has flippers for arms, and doesn't wear shoes or a saddle. But that's just what I think. King Dark BowserDark Bowser

Taxonomy

This is named after a Plesiosaur, is built like a Nothosaur, and referred to as a Dinosaur. This presents us with a conundrum: despite being clear to anyone with in-depth knowledge of prehistoric taxonomy that it's a Nothosaur, it's called a "Dinosaur," which Nothosaurs and Plesiosaurs decidedly aren't. Granted, it might be like calling a Pteranodon a Dinosaur, a weasel or mole a rodent, or a strawberry a berry, ie a misused generic term, based on incorrect assumption or trying to "help kids understand." Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:48, 28 October 2017 (EDT)

We must put them in dinosaurs because this being a fictional character it's ultimately Nintendo which tells us what it is, if it does so (which is rare but sometimes, like in this case, happens). The design is clearly based on nothosaurs, which sadly aren't dinosaurs - we can expect designers to browse the various existing species in search of an inspiration, but we cannot expect Nintendo as a whole to be always precise down to these details. Either we keep both of them as we are doing now or we remove the nothosaur term mentions beside the physical appearance - where it is better to state the real-life counterpart on which we build the description. If you think this approach would be safer, we can also change in that section "is" into "is based on".--Mister Wu (talk) 00:01, 29 October 2017 (EDT)
Also, regarding the Yoshi potential relation, the Japanese name is structured the same, and it has the same shape of head. And is rideable. So that's always a possibility. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:07, 29 October 2017 (EDT)

More info on Cat Plessie

I previously edited the wiki page and added more information on Cat Plessie in Bowser’s Fury, such as how many cats in can carry, how it can’t carry calico kittens, and so on. However, my section was deleted. Should we add it again or leave it be? The wiki could use the extra knowledge. OkSteak (talk) 15:02, March 4, 2021 (EST)OkSteak

Are you sure you added it in this page? I'm not finding any sign of your edits in the revision history of the page. You can add the information here, in case in a separate paragraph of the Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury section.--Mister Wu (talk) 19:00, March 4, 2021 (EST)
You added it on Kitten, didn't you? Marie costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 23:03, March 4, 2021 (EST)
