Template:Species-infobox Gunions[1][2] are octopus-like enemies in Super Mario Land, found in the Muda Kingdom. Gunions have a simple attack pattern and subdue the Marine Pop whenever it comes into range. If shot three times, it will split into two balls, both of which will home in on Mario. Defeating a Gunion nets Mario an extra 800 points. Gunions are only found in World 2-3, the Marine Pop's level. One Gunion posed as Princess Daisy, which Mario discovered after defeating Dragonzamasu.

A green Gunion is among the monsters chasing Mario in the Nintendo Comics System story The Fish That Should've Gotten Away.

Gunions make a cameo appearance in Splatoon 2, where their sprites from Super Mario Land appear in Inkopolis Square and Ancho-V Games.
