Template:Character-infobox Metto Oyakata (メット親方, Chief Buzzy Beetle) is an original character that appears in the Super Mario World adaptation in Super Mario-kun. He is a large, bipedal Buzzy Beetle with a giant grin surrounded with a black beard (almost resembling Foreman Spike). He also wears a construction helmet with a skull picture on it. He is responsible for the creation of the obstacle course in the underground sections and in the castles.

In chapter 3 volume 3, to avoid the scorching sun on the surface, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi go underground, where a construction site is present. Jumping over the site's fence, the trio gets yelled at by the foreman, Metto Oyakata, who tells them to leave, since an obstacle course for Mario is being placed, noticing too late that Mario was in the group. Metto Oyakata and his Buzzy Beetle workers activate the already set trap, but the trio avoids them, but then falls into the wet cement. With only their head popping out from the ground, Metto Oyakata calls some Swoopers to suck the trio's energy and abilities to possess them for himself, gaining Mario's nose, moustache and cape and Yoshi's hunger for turtles (eating one of his own workers). Out from the cement trap, Mario reaches for a 3-Up Moon and becomes 3UP Mario. With a fire kick, Mario sends Metto Oyakata flying and engulfed in flames towards the powder magazine, blowing up the entire underground.

In chapter 7 volume 5, the trio encounters Metto Oyakata again when they enter Bowser's Castle for the second time. He laughs at them, so Mario jumps at him to punch him, but a moving wall saves Metto Oyakata, making Mario crash on it. Metto Oyakata laughs again, but another wall moves and hits him on the head.
