Paper Mario description | Lets you charge up your hammer. Uses 1 FP. When charged, Mario's Hammer power goes up by 2. Lets you charge unlimited times, but power fades after attack. |
Smash Charge is a Badge in Paper Mario. It is found in the Koopa Bros. Fortress, on top of a pedestal along the main path. If Mario equips it, he gains access to Charge, a hammer ability that costs one FP to use. It acts as a weaker version of S. Smash Charge; when it is used, Mario powers up his hammer attacks, increasing their attack power by two while using up his turn. If the move is used again, Mario's power is increased by two points, which stacks with the previous charge, and there is no limit to how many times he can use Charge. This also works in conjunction with the S. Smash Chg. Badge. His next hammer attack automatically uses all of his accumulated charge, and the charge is lost for every subsequent hammer attack.
Merluvlee's predictions in Paper Mario
- "I see...a Smash Charge Badge. It's high up in the fortress of the Koopa Bros. You climb the stairs that rise from the water and continue up the ramp. A Bob-omb will try to keep you from taking it."
