A Hyper Cleft is a sub-species of Clefts first encountered in Paper Mario at Gusty Gulch. The only real physical difference between a Hyper Cleft and a normal Cleft is that Hyper Clefts are green in color and have purple shoes and eyes. Hyper Clefts are also capable of charging their attacks to do a ton of damage. They are also spiked so jumping on them will not work.

Hyper Clefts reappear in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, this time in the Twilight Region.
