The garlic bottle is an item in the game Virtual Boy Wario Land, released for the Virtual Boy in 1995. It resembles a large clove of Garlic with an upward-pointing arrow that looks like a lightning bolt. The garlic bottle power-up is found in most levels within ? Blocks. If collected by Wario, it will transform him into a more powerful form. It is similar to Mario's Super Mushroom, having a similar use throughout the Mario series. In the game, Wario will be reduced to Tiny Wario if he is to touch harmful objects such as spikes or harmful parts of enemies. If Wario is to be harmed while Tiny Wario, he will lose a life and will be sent back to the beginning of the level. To prevent this, Wario can restore himself to "normal" (or "big") form by collecting a garlic bottle. This gives him the ability to Dash Attack and also gives him another chance of damage before losing a life. Additionally, if Wario is to collect a garlic bottle while in "normal" form, he will transform into Bull Wario. This form gives Wario the ability to Ground Pound and perform a stronger Dash Attack. Taking damage in this form will reduce him back to Small Wario, and more garlic bottles may need to be collected to give Wario a stronger form.
