By technichal problems on my laptop, I couldn't say something important as well during the proposal: What about screenshots? In my opinion it's necessary to talk about these type of images, because some of them contain watermarks or are relatively small in size (the most notable defects). I was thinking about adding some rules on this:

• Screenshots free of watermarks or logos on them. It is possible we are showing the logo of a site, considering then we "stole" that picture.
• Size: the size doesn't matter if the image shown has a great quality, and all the properties that fullfills the general rules.
• Sprites: sprites should be in PNG or GIF format. a JPG sprite will appear with "spots" or blurry.
• when featured, the image could carry a description (something similar to that shown in wikipedia's featured pictures).

Actually, I'd say that every image should be free of logos, since websites like Gamespot or IGN can host art as well as screenshots. I'd also say that any screenshot of a 2D game should have to be png. On the other hand, since these are being voted on, I'd guess that any inappropriate images would probably be filtered out naturally. - 2257^(Talk) 00:16, 10 April 2009 (EDT)

Simple images

Many "Simple images" are being nominated, like Birdo and Dark Fawful Big.will images with many opposes, be deleted? ™ They should

What About Ties?

What do you think should we do if by the end of a week there are two or more images with the same amount of positive votes? I would suggest to feature the image that was nominated earlier. Other opinions? Time Questions 16:48, 1 May 2009 (EDT)

A Suggestion...

Although I don't plan on doing this much myself, but I think that, like the Featured Articles, we have an unfeaturing option, in case an FI gets another version uploaded, or people change their minds about the quality. Just a question.

Dimenshi has a question. Why did that one user remove not only Dimenshi's vote, but also a whole section picture (the one nominated by BMB) even though it was equal 3-3(but after they got rid of Dimenshi's vote became 3-4)? To be a FI, an article must be on the mainspace, but the Metal Mario image that was recently featured isn't on any mainspace articles anymore... Doesn't that mean we have to remove its status of something? Fawfulfury65

It's not only the image but the coding to create the new section. I think another reason why it was discontinued is because images were being recycled and the nominated ones were usually old video games because there are rarely new video game artwork. Zero777 (talk)

1. Super Mario Bros. (talk) – This system did not work when it was in place, voting and rotating was a mess, and it caused more problems than it should have. The current Main Page would also be cramped if another box were added, and it would not look good. The current Main Page is fine as it is.
2. BabyLuigiOnFire (talk) As much as I like this idea, without a good revamp of the system, the process would get taken down again. We have reasons for taking the FI down and our reasons were these: poor voting (since it's opinion-based, it is likely to be biased), cramped main page space, and the fact that, at the time, we were running out of FIs to feature. But the voting system is the main reason it was taken down. Also, per SMB.

There's absolute no reason you should think you shouldn't have started this. But to bring this back, we need a serious overhaul of the system that made it moot in the first place. Since your proposal has no plans for any sort of changes, chances are, it will get taken down again just as quickly as last time. Ray Trace^(T|C)
