Porcupuffer[1] is a boss in Mario Pinball Land. It is found inside a shipwreck in the Frosty Frontier Stage. It mainly swims around the ship, but after enough time has passed, it extends the spikes on its body and homes in on Mario directly to knock him around the room. When hit by cannonball bombs or Invincible Mario, Porcupuffer inflates, leaving it temporarily vulnerable to Mario's pinball form or a cannonball bomb. Every time Porcupuffer takes a hit, it summons two little puffers to help it attack (or a single new one if one has already been defeated), and the player earns 10,000 points. The little puffers can be defeated by flicking a single cannonball bomb at them with the flippers. Hitting Porcupuffer three times defeats it and grants 500,000 points. Once defeated, Porcupuffer leaves behind four Yellow Coins, four Blue Coins, and a Star Key.

Porcupuffer reappears and is fought again after all the Cheep Cheeps are defeated in its rematch room in the Fiery Stage. At the start of this fight, two little puffers appear with Porcupuffer. After Porcupuffer is defeated again, the player earns 1,000,000 points and can obtain a Star.
