Sunken Treasure is the first mission of the Beach Bowl Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. The mission's objective is to reach the top of the main planet.

Layout[edit]

The player will start off on one of many islands in the Heavenly Beach Planet. In order to progress, the player has to find five Star Chips (called "sparklies" by the local penguins) scattered underwater; all of which are encased in bubbles. Two are found in the open, one is located next to a large Gringill, another is found in a crate on the waterbed, and the final one is found in a Clampy. Once all five are collected, a Launch Star will appear that will launch Mario to near the top of the planet. This area has several Piranha Plants and a Wiggler, as well as a ? Coin that will produce a trail of notes that will reward the player with a 1-Up Mushroom when collected. On the opposite end of the area from where the player started is a ! Switch that will cause platforms to appear, and will disappear after a set time. Crossing them to reach an upper platform, the player will find another ! Switch that will create walls the player has to Wall Jump up in order to reach the Power Star trapped in a large crystal.
