Half the Battle is a Team minigame appearing in Super Mario Party. It is unique in that it can be played in the regular Mario Party mode only if each player has at least one ally character. The minigame's name comes from a phrase meaning that something is the most important step in achieving a goal.

Introduction[edit]

The first team and their allies combine crest halves into whole ones. The number combined is determined by how many allies there are. The screen then fades out and in, with both teams and their allies at their starting positions. The minigame then starts.

Gameplay[edit]

In this minigame, each team must gather crest halves on either side of the area and join them together at the partition for one point each. If a player touches an Amp, they are briefly stunned. If a team joins two crest halves together after time runs out, that team still earns a point. After one minute, the team with more points wins.

On Challenge Road, this is the eighth minigame played at End of the Road and the 71st challenge overall. Here, the player must win without touching an Amp (although their CPU partner's touching one does not penalize them). In the normal challenge, each contestant has two allies, but in the Master Challenge, the player has only one.

Controls[edit]

  • Control Stick – Move

In-game text[edit]

  • Join the halves of the crests!
  • Each member of your group can carry half a crest.
