Buckbots basically move around from one direction to the next, attempting to run into Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong.  Fortunately, they can be destroyed by any attack method.

BuckBots have an explosive counterpart, BuckBombs, which self-destruct shortly after being attacked.
Buckbots also have a relative, known as the Buckbomb.  Buckbombs behaved the same way as Buckbots, but when they get attacked, they'll start to self-destruct. Fortunately, the Kongs can pick up a self-destructing Buckbomb to take out other enemies, such as the durable Pyrobot. Like the Buckbots, Buckbombs also only appear in the Factory area.

Buckbots and Buckbombs were most likely created by Colonel Pluck, considering that the Buckbots do appear during the boss fight.

BuckBots[1] are enemies in Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. Encountered throughout the Factory, they are robotic wind-up chickens that move around by marching back and forth like a clockwork toy. If the Kongs simply walk into one, they lose a heart. BuckBots can be destroyed with any attack, causing them to break apart in a puff of smoke. Colonel Pluck's Stompybot 3000 produces eggs that hatch into BuckBots during the boss level, Feather Fiend, some of which drop collectable hearts when defeated.

BuckBots have an explosive counterpart, BuckBombs, which self-destruct shortly after being attacked.
