The title of this article is official, but it comes from a Japanese source.
If an acceptable English name is found, then the article should be moved to the new title.

Hone
Mario becomes Skeleton Mario
Appears in Super Mario-kun volume 1 (1991)
Effect Turns Mario into Skeleton Mario
“これを取れば 変身できるんだな。がいこつになる だけですけど。(If you take this, you can transform. You just turn into a skeleton, though.)”
Isshī, Super Mario-kun

The Hone is a power-up that only appears in one chapter of Super Mario-kun volume 1 as one of the hypothetical items that would appear in a future game.

It is released by a Hone Kuribon after being squashed. When Mario grabs it, it turns him into Skeleton Mario for three minutes.
