Yoshi's Island DS is the direct sequel of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and the indirect sequel to Yoshi's Story. This game promised more levels, updated graphics, new babies, and a whole new adventure! Although the graphics have been updated, they still retain the trademark "pen and pencil" style of the original.

It also has a museum of enemies in the game.

Story

Warning! The following chapter contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.

The story revolves around a mysterious floating castle. When the castle appears, all the preschoolers on Yoshi's Island get kidnapped, including Baby Luigi. Baby Mario, Baby Wario, Baby Donkey Kong and Baby Peach are (conveniently) left behind. Each baby has different abilities: Baby Mario's ability to make Yoshi faster, Baby Peach's floating umbrella ability, Baby Wario's magnet ability, DK's vine climbing ability, and Baby Bowser's fireball ability. Baby Bowser appears a few times to lend a helping hand, but at the end of the game, he turns traitor! Yoshi must face the spoilied prince in his personal room, and, after defeating him, Kamek blows him up to size again, but this time, he looks like a much taller (and thinner) present-day Bowser. Yoshi must beat him once again to rescue the stolen babies.

Wi-Fi

Look familiar? The title screen is similar to that of the original game.

It was once on said on the original box that it would utilize Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, but in the new box there is no Wi-Fi sticker, sadly.

The release date was 11/13/2006.

Bosses

Like in the original game, each world has two castles, with a boss in each. Kamek once again uses his magic to enlarge common enemies.
