In ''[[Super Mario Sunshine]]'' this move was used by anyone to knock down the opponents. If a character tackles the opponent that has the soccerball, the soccerball will go flying and land somewhere in the field.

Tackle is similiar to a Jump, except that it does damage even from the side. You can Tackle an enemy or use it to slide down water ramps and hills. It doesn't work on all enemies though. It is used only in the 3-D platformers by the four Super Mario 64 DS characters. It is used in Super Mario Sunshine too.
