Just like every other enemy in the pit, they are colored pitch black. Their attack pattern is similar to that of the other members of the Sproing-Oing family: they bounce around, trying to land on Mario's head. They also split into three smaller Dark Sproing-Oings when defeated. However, if enough damage is dealt fast enough, they will not split. They are the strongest kind of Sproing-Oing.
