Krusha, the elite of King K. Rool's forces.

Krushas are blue-skinned, muscle-bound Kremlings that were green camouflage. They first appeared in the original Donkey Kong Country. Krushas (like Klumps) are very strong, and can only be defeated by Donkey Kong. If Diddy Kong attempts to attack a Krusha, the little monkey will simply bounce of the muscular Kremling. Krusha will then laugh at the puny Diddy Kong. These Kremling soldiers attack by simply walking into Donkey or Diddy Kong.

Donkey Kong Country also features rare gray-skinned Krushas that wear purple camouflage. These Krushas are even stronger than Donkey Kong (and will laugh at the big ape’s pathetic attacks). Gray Krushas can only be defeated by being hit with a barrel. This variety of Krusha is only found in the last normal stage of the game. They stand on collapsing platforms, blocking the way of Donkey and Diddy. Only a single barrel is provided to defeat each Krusha; if Donkey or Diddy miss their target, they will be unable to pass Krusha and will eventually fall into the pit below.

Krushas returned in Donkey Kong Land. However, Krushas do not have a stronger form like the previous game.

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2 an enemy similar to Krushas, called Krunchas appear.

In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble and Donkey Kong Land III Krushas were once again replaced by a similar enemy called Krumples. Interestingly in Donkey Kong Land III, the enemy named Knocka, a Kremling that hides in a barrel, was mistakenly named “Krusha”.

Krusha is a hidden playable character in Donkey Kong 64. Although he is not available for play in the one-player adventure, Krusha can be used in multiplayer mode. In the game, Krusha has the same build and fighting style as Chunky Kong. The muscular Kremling also wields a grenade launcher that fires Orange Grenades.

A similar muscle-bound enemy named Kasplat also appears in Donkey Kong 64. Despite their similar appearance, Krusha and Kasplat are two distinct enemies. However, Prima’s Donkey Kong 64 Strategy Guide mistakenly identified Kasplat as Krusha.

Appearances in Other Media

A Krusha was a character in the Donkey Kong Country TV series. Because of his strength, Krusha served as King K. Rool’s bodyguard. However, despite being incredibly strong, Krusha was not very bright, having the IQ of a young child. He also enjoyed the children’s television program The Sing Along with Uncle Swampy Show. During the first season, Krusha was voiced by Ron Rubin. In the second season, his voice was provided by Frank Welker.
