== Super Smash Bros. Brawl Unfeaturing ==
I've shortened the plot section in the Subspace Emissary section. It's still quite long, but it's ''very'' difficult condensing it even further without leaving out vital details. Still, I hope I've done enough to reduce the section since I ''did'' rewrote the entire dang thing from scratch. Although I did not fix the other problems yet, please consider what I've done for the Subspace Emissary plot section. Thanks! {{User:Mario/sig}} 23:17, 20 February 2014 (EST)
:Actually, I've addressed every single issue you've had a problem with in the ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl''. Here we go:
:"''Let me start off with the most evident thing: there is a rewrite template for the Subspace Emissary section. According to rule 5, this already means that it doesn't deserve to keep its FA status. To elaborate, the section describing the plot is absolutely filled with grammatical errors ("which they proceed to carrier off"), speculative text ("whose intent is to kill Lucas"), and especially fanciful writing ("Lucas soon gets his foot snagged on an unearthed root"). None of these are acceptable in a wiki article.''"
:I rewrote the '''entire''' thing, from scratch, probably cutting the entire plot section in half or even more than that. I've gotten rid of unnecessary details of each scene (e.g. "Mario picks his nose, twirls his mustache two and half times, and lolls out his tongue as he dies, lazy-eyed." to "Mario dies"). Yes, the writing was horrible. The section may be quite long, but it's extremely difficult to further heavily condense the thing without removing significant plot points (nearly every cutscene advances or describes the plot in some way, so the section is basically a sum up of each cutscene).
:"''Besides that, though, another aspect that I'm not particularly fond of is the article's abuse of subsections. For example, the Rules section, which carries fourteen subsections. Most of them are relatively basic in the first place, with some only having a single sentence. That section can certainly be organized in a better fashion (do we even need that much info on rules?). Small subsections crop up around the entire article, though, and I really think that it would benefit from a clean scrubbing of sections.''"
:The amount of unnecessary detail into each subsection (particularly, the rules section) is horrendous, so I removed the subsections and removed the descriptions of some rulesets (do we need really every single description on "loser pick", setting stock intervals, setting time intervals, having a subsection on damage ratio? No! So, I either deleted the details or merged the subsections into one bigger section.
:"''Also, this article does not describe at all what the gameplay is like. The Gameplay section covers what's new about this game in regards to its predecessors, but it does not state at all how the game actually plays, which I think is just a silly thing to gloss over.''"
:This is the first one I dealt with. Good thing you acknowledge this being improved until it's not a problem anymore.
:"''The descriptions for the stages are also not very descriptive. Some of them say things like "it is filled with many gimmicks that can either assist or hinder the player", "this stage encorporates elements of various Fire Emblem games" (oh hey, a typo), and "Very similar to Corneria and Venom", which tells me nothing. I know that we have the actual articles of those stages to fully describe them, but if the description leaves me with more questions than answers, it's not a good description. There may be other things that I haven't mentioned, but what I have here is a laundry list of problems with this article.''"
:Done. Yes, the descriptions are woefully vague and bare. Good thing I added the stage hazards and what ''actually'' happens in those stages. So, we have a more fleshed out description for each stage, ensuring that those that want a general idea don't need to click on the links. There.
:I dedicated hours to satisfying your complaints so please, if there is anything else that needs a thorough cleanup, please, please, please let me know. If not, I think this article can stay featured. :) {{User:Mario/sig}} 01:08, 21 February 2014 (EST)
::I don't really expect people to help me, though, and I don't know who will. Lord Grammaticus said that he would do some of the work, but I don't know when, and I want to do it before the article gets unfeatured. I have a very bad tendency to lack initiative, and once I get started, I dedicate my efforts to have it completed as soon as I can, or else I'll simply forget about it.
::Anyway, I'll be working on character descriptions shortly. {{User:Mario/sig}} 14:30, 21 February 2014 (EST) Me and Mario7 are two different people.
:::Nah, this is probably one of the few times I'd like to engage in a one-plumber effort. I've done it before. I'll do it again. Also, I'm not rushing either. {{User:Mario/sig}} 14:44, 21 February 2014 (EST)
::::Expanded on the character sections, partly. I'd like to see if this is what you're thinking about, and I will expand on additional characters shortly, if you approve. {{User:Mario/sig}} 15:05, 21 February 2014 (EST)
:::::Well, writing goes through proofreading all the time. And it's not like it's horrific. I guess my writing isn't top notch, but I was trying to write varied sentence structures. {{User:Mario/sig}} 15:26, 21 February 2014 (EST)
::::::That was oversight and a typo on my part, heh. Don't know how I eff up with Link's section like that, but my writing should be good otherwise. {{User:Mario/sig}} 15:51, 21 February 2014 (EST)

==How== | |||
How was the way it was before better? It took out sections for no apparent reason, took out information for no apparent reason, used a quote that wasn't as defining for her character, and the worst part was, had a completely horribly written description for her appearance. Her hair isn't brown, her eyes aren't sky-blue, her hair isn't short. Please tell me how it's better, and please actually work on this article if you have all those problems with it. You have done so little to improve this despite heading the unfeature status. [[User:UhHuhAlrightDaisy|UhHuhAlrightDaisy]] ([[User talk:UhHuhAlrightDaisy|talk]]) 22:40, 9 March 2014 (EDT)
:This is literally what you just reverted it back to saying: " She has an short light brown hair (longer and orange in the past, but in the Nintendo 64 games, it was dark brown). The ''Mario Party 6'' official site refers her hair as orange." Just read that. Aside from being wrong, look at how horrible this grammer is. It's literally STUPID. You reverted it just because you think her page needs to be smaller, but you don't even actually care about the quality of the page. [[User:UhHuhAlrightDaisy|UhHuhAlrightDaisy]] ([[User talk:UhHuhAlrightDaisy|talk]]) 22:43, 9 March 2014 (EDT)
And these are the other things you want to remove:
*''"Years after her initial appearance, Daisy started appearing in more and more Mario games because of a lack of [[human]] characters in the series.[http://www.camelot.co.jp/gimon/gimon13.html] She now appears in the majority of Mario spin-off games, often a playable character. Daisy is good friends with [[Princess Peach]], and she interacts positively with many other characters. Daisy has appeared in more than forty ''Mario'' series games to date, and continues to regularly."''
This states why she started appearing as a playable character. It gives an actual reason for it, backed up by official statement. It also addressees her status in the games, and her recognizable number of appearances.
*''"Daisy is a tomboy, something made clear in her debut appearance.[http://www.nintendo.co.jp/n02/dmg/mla/chara/index.html] Daisy is represented by the colors yellow, orange, and green. She has an affinity for flowers; her attire, special abilities, personal emblems and general representations are often flowers."''
Again, this is something detailing who she is, and what she's about, and again, the first statement is referenced with an official statement.
*''"She has repeatedly used one-liners like, "yeah-hoo," said in dixie accent, and even, "yo," in an urban accent."''
This is following the statement of her contemporary-vernacular. It explains what this slang she uses is, with actual quotes for example.
And finally, there is seemingly nothing wrong with her descriptions for her appearance and clothing being detailed like a novel. Rosalina and Peach's pages are this detailed, and Rosalina's is still featured and always has been. Please do not pick on the character. [[User:UhHuhAlrightDaisy|UhHuhAlrightDaisy]] ([[User talk:UhHuhAlrightDaisy|talk]]) 22:56, 9 March 2014 (EDT)
:You understand that "other articles have this problem, so this article should have it as well" is NEVER a valid argument? Why do we need paragraphs of crap describing her attire? It's much better to provide a much clear and simple description rather than dwelve into paragraphs and PARAGRAPHS of description, ESPECIALLY when an image of Daisy will do. Standards change over time, and I think Rosalina's article should be cleaned up if that's the case because we honestly don't need every single nitty gritty detail about their clothes. Less is more when it comes to information, and we prefer concise clear information rather than so much fan freaking worship-like descriptions of what they look like. And you don't blame Time Turner for rewriting her description: <i>I</i> did that. {{User:Baby Luigi/sig}} 23:52, 9 March 2014 (EDT)

== The list of allies and stuff ==
Wow, I didn't realize my objection would lead you to be thinking harder than you expect. I guess that's a good thing. I think the lists aren't really ''that'' great. How often do people edit it? And just hover over some of the names: "Mario games wouldn't be much of a challenge without these fiends." Mildly amusing, but not that great of that "professional" and "serious" impression we're supposed to showcase. Oh, it always feel nice to argue with people that know how to argue. :)
Hm... I'm thinking too how the lists can be improved on, but the only thing I can come up is maybe removing "List of Enemies" and "List of Allies", and "List of Bosses" and buffing up the "character" and "species" superlists. What I mean by that, maybe we can add special marks to enemies, a different special mark to allies, and another special mark to bosses (so overlapping characters, maybe somebody like [[Koopa Kid]] get both marks). The problem, those marks can really clutter the page since most characters are either enemies or allies. And there are a few instances where there may be a question mark on who gets what. Take Koopa Troopas: you initially think of them as generic enemies, but Koopa Troopas are ''always'' friendly in the ''Mario Party'' games.
My own question leads me into yet another question: why ''aren't'' Koopa Troopas listed as allies in the "List of allies" page?but Shy Guys are... Mind you, I'm referring to Koopas collectively; just because Koops is friendly doesn't mean Koopa Troopas should be considered allies. You know the general question behind this... right? What qualifies as an ally or an enemy?
Another thing bothering me about those lists are the debut medium appearances that follow shortly after the name. It gives a good general idea for what game they appear in, but for those with multiple appearances, like Mario or Bowser... seeing ''Donkey Kong'' listed after Mario's name just irks me for some reason. And... why does Shy Guy have ''Mario vs. Donkey Kong''? And what about crossover characters like Kirby or Link? Kirby and Link obviously qualify for the List of allies since they are friendly characters in the comics. The lists are incomplete.
I'm spouting my thoughts here. It's a whole friggin' lot of questions, but don't be intimidated: feel free to comment if you like. Your thoughts would be appreciated, and I ''do'' enjoy these conversations... {{User:Mario/sig}} 23:11, 24 September 2014 (EDT)

== List of Luigi's Mansion beta elements ==
Good question! However, I can answer somewhere around 99% of the beta elements for [[Luigi's Mansion]]. So to answer your question, the [[List of Luigi's Mansion beta elements|article]] states, "Concepts for ''Luigi's Mansion'', such as character designs, were being planned during the [[Nintendo 64]]'s lifetime<nowiki><ref name="N-Sider"></ref></nowiki>. The game was originally planned to release for the Nintendo 64, while it was at the end of its lifespan, but was later moved to the GameCube due to hardware limitations" and on this [http://www.n-sider.com/contentview.php?contentid=261 article], it states:
"Q: When did you start working on the characters?
:Konno: Well, we had character designers working parallel to the team working on the map and industrial design. Some of these ideas were already on paper with thoughts of the Nintendo 64.
Q: Did the change from cartridge to optical media prove helpful?
:Konno: I don't think it proved much difference with this project. We did all the cinematography using the real-time engine. Perhaps if we used more CG calibur sequences, it would have been more useful."
So if you think hard enough, the question asked to Konno of "Did the change from cartridge to optical media prove helpful?" hints it for a possibility that this Nintendo GameCube launch title was likely meant for the N64. Along with the fact that [http://www.mariowiki.com/List_of_Luigi%27s_Mansion_beta_elements#Gallery this] [http://www.mariowiki.com/File:LM_beta_Daisy.png image] of Daisy from a Mario Tennis sprite for the Nintendo 64 was left behind and is still within the game's coding. So because of my two sources, I think that it could be plausible that Luigi's Mansion might've been a game meant to be released for the N64 or at the very least started development for it. ::Black is by far the best color to use for show-casing and displaying semi-transprency (which there are several trophies with that), and makes sprite work (like the 8bit Pac-man trophies) stand out. Furthermore, the default setting for viewing trophies is a dark background, so it's only natural we should replicate that effect. I don't normally have the opportunity to do things like this, but I understand why you'd be put off by my shocking comments because it's not very often I do this. As far as I can tell... it isn't, but it does have surprising accuracy when it comes to obscure sources, which is something someone else noticed when it came to [[Talk:Donkey Kong (Game Boy)#Enemy names...|''Game Boy Donkey Kong'' enemies]] and something I noticed when I compared certain ''Wario Land II'' obstacles to their ''[[Nintendo Power (cartridge)#Mario Games released on the Nintendo Power Service|Picross NP Vol.7]]'' cameos. The thread does raise a good point, though - just because it tends to be right doesn't mean that it always is, so I agree with a post saying it's more of a placeholder than an actual legit source. On the other hand, if references are going to be more strict, then I'd also say it wouldn't be a bad idea to cut off other oft-cited sites like ''The Mushroom Kingdom'' or alleged email responses, since in the end they may be under similar scrutiny at times. :When there isn't a direct source like a screenshot, it's always possible there was a typo or incorrect formatting with the transcribed or copied message. *I think that's pretty much it. When I took my ''Brawl'' snapshots, the screen resolution that I used was 4:3. Try using the 4:3 resolution to see if that helps. {{User:M&SG/sig}} 23:19, 19 March 2015 (EDT)

Hey, Time Turner - if you think the one or both of my [[Talk:Head_Block#Merge_with_.3F_Block|block]] [[Talk:White-Green_Checkered_Block#Merge_with_Jump_Block|proposals]] are unnecessary, I take it you believe the case is self-evident and you wouldn't have any objections if I went ahead with the actions after canceling them? ==Item Rates==
TT, there's a guide on GameFAQs that lists in detail the hold rates (chances of an enemy holding an item in battle) and drop rate (chances of them dropping the item) for each enemy [http://www.gamefaqs.com/gamecube/920182-paper-mario-the-thousand-year-door/faqs/63451 here]. I plan to create another in-depth chart using the data from this guide eventually, but in the meantime let's add these to the badge and item pages. ;)
I also found an in-depth enemy data chart from this thread [http://ml.techyoshi.com/index.php/topic,149.msg2633.html#msg2633 here] as well -- it lists rates of enemies getting afflicted with status ailments and other stats. Eventually, I'd also like to move the Tattle Log from the [[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door bestiary|TTYD bestiary]] to its own page so I can put all these in-game stats in. --[[User:Zootalo|Zootalo]] ([[User talk:Zootalo|talk]]) 17:37, 21 April 2015 (EDT)

I and Walkazo already [http://www.mariowiki.com/index.php?title=Land_Manta_Ray&diff=prev&oldid=1821555 established a precedent] for moving back enemy pages if the only reasoning is "it's from the Japanese wikipedia", so you or anyone else invested in this matter can diy as the user has failed to provide usable sources. == Sources ==
My primary source is this website, which is essentially a Japanese Mario wiki. http://honndana.sakura.ne.jp/mario/index.html Unfortunately, the original source for the Donkey Kong names in particular is VERY hard to find, but all the enemies are named and other names on that wiki are indeed accurate with photos I have seen of the Super Mario Land 2 guide from eBay, for instance. I have also seen the names backed up on other websites, but of course it's possible for false names to become common ones, so I was very careful to make sure that site was accurate, and as far as I can tell it really is for almost everything. It's a good source. I am assuming the original source from the names was a Japanese guide book, as with most of these things. It seems the Donkey Kong one is incredibly rare, sadly, because I would love to get ahold of it. If you happen to see it listed anywhere, let me know because it's something I could import just for the sake of confirming (helps that it's one of my favorite games). While I cannot completely 100% vouch for every name without having access to the guides myself, I do trust that site, it does not have made up names listed for any other game (as far as I've seen) so I think it is a safe bet while we lack any other alternative. There are some other sites I used for sources, I could probably dig them out if you wish. [[User:Fizzle|Fizzle]] ([[User talk:Fizzle|talk]]) 13:00, 26 April 2015 (EDT)
:And whaddya know, I literally gave a quick check and found some photos on eBay of a guide that does indeed use the same names. [http://hit930.sakura.ne.jp/hitjapan/book9/P140605085.JPG Here, for instance!] I may bid on it just for full confirmation, but it seems likely that it's genuine stuff. I'd really recommend against moving things back to conjectural names just because SOME people question the source. It's not like conjectural names are any better. Not sure what the opposition to them is really about, a little bit of research would have solved the issue. [[User:Fizzle|Fizzle]] ([[User talk:Fizzle|talk]]) 13:37, 26 April 2015 (EDT)
::I understand the reasoning, it is hard to find Japanese names, but previously many of the enemies had generic names such as "monkey" or "crab" which would conflict with already existing articles, which can cause a lot of messed up pages and the like. I think most people will be going to the game page to find the enemy list first, so their "findability" isn't a huge issue, in the end, hopefully. Also, while I do appreciate questioning sources, I looked at the discussion you linked to about that particular source and to be honest it seemed to verify the source further in my eyes, given that it was 99% accurate with the Wario Land 4 enemy names. In this instance, I would need more examples of the source being especially wrong before writing it off. It's a very good source. There's even a Zelda equivalent that is also extremely accurate (and I say this as someone who owns almost all the Japanese Zelda guidebooks).
::Anyway, enough of my rambling, here's the other sample pages for confirmation of names. Look to the enemy boxes, the names are generally listed there, I believe. There may be a few others dotted around. Another source for names is the Japanese Virtual Console manual, which can be found in .pdf form on Nintendo Japan's own website, but this lists only the ones in the English manual as well. [http://hit930.sakura.ne.jp/hitjapan/book9/P140605080.JPG Page 1], [http://hit930.sakura.ne.jp/hitjapan/book9/P140605081.JPG page 2], [http://hit930.sakura.ne.jp/hitjapan/book9/P140605082.JPG page 3], [http://hit930.sakura.ne.jp/hitjapan/book9/P140605083.JPG page 4], [http://hit930.sakura.ne.jp/hitjapan/book9/P140605084.JPG page 5] and [http://hit930.sakura.ne.jp/hitjapan/book9/P140605085.JPG page 6], which I already linked to. For future reference, this is the Hisshou Kouryakuhou guide. There is also another guide listed but I am not sure if it has any names in it or not, the pages are walls of text and I haven't recognized any listed names yet. Good work with the badge articles so far! For all those Badge Drop Rate charts I've been adding, I'm wondering if I should only show the rates as seen from that TTYD Enemy Drop Guide in GameFAQs, just the odds in percentages, or continue the way I've been doing it (rates with mouse-over percentages)? Let me know. --[[User:Zootalo|Zootalo]] ([[User talk:Zootalo|talk]]) 22:19, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
:Huh? No, I got those percentages right. lol I simply take those rates (2/300 = 0.0067) then multiply them by 100 (0.67). Having a drop rate read out as "0.67%" seems easier to understand than "0.0066666666666667", y'know? --[[User:Zootalo|Zootalo]] ([[User talk:Zootalo|talk]]) 23:37, 1 May 2015 (EDT)

:::I put descriptions in the rollover text now on some of the pages stating that rollover percentages were out of 100 (when rolling over Hold Rate and Drop Rate), so I don't see how there'd be any misconstruction (if you wanted me to, I could have that blatantly mentioned, heh). Furthermore, the item drops from the other Mario RPGs were out of 100, so who's to say the item/badge rates from this game -- as weird as they are -- can't have that consistency? That's why I was listing them as such in the first place. --[[User:Zootalo|Zootalo]] ([[User talk:Zootalo|talk]]) 17:48, 3 May 2015 (EDT)
==Bestiary charts== | |||
Hey, TT! As I mentioned [[Talk:Paper Mario bestiary|here]] on the Paper Mario bestiary talkpage, with the abundance of enemy stats from ''Mario'' RPGs -- since I obviously can't fit 'em all on one table -- I've been debating on whether to still keep the charts separate or to split each chart into its own subpage (like I've done with the [[List of enemy formations in Paper Mario]] -- or even shrink the font a bit to make more room?<br>Something else I've been thinking about: I was going to create two subpages of the ''Superstar Saga'' bestiary that would list only stats from each version (US/EU and Japanese) -- some people may only want to see stats from one version without the other included. Would that be excessive? --[[User:Zootalo|Zootalo]] ([[User talk:Zootalo|talk]]) 19:34, 29 April 2015 (EDT)

Me again. =P I'm trying to incorporate collapsable lists to PM enemy to place the sheer amount of TTYD stats (as seen in [http://www.mariowiki.com/images/c/c7/Pm2enemystats.png this pic]) into, however I wanted them visible only if "PM2" is set to "yes" (if that makes sense). I'd also like to have those Item/Badge Drops in there... or even collapsible lists exclusive for PM1, too, if possible. Hello to you all, I'm Time Turner, and if you want to talk to me, I got a couple of rules for you first.
- Sign all of your comments so I know who left it.
- Spelling and grammar are prefered.
- I will reply to you on your talk page.
- Whenever starting a new conversation, put it under a new header.
- Just to let you know, I am a fan of numerous genres and forms of media, such as My Little Pony and Doctor Who. If that bothers you in a way that makes you feel the need to attempt to provoke me or otherwise instigate something, we're better off not talking.

Just To Let You Know
Hi Time Turner! Sorry I left the Mini Mountaineer article a stub. I was going to start it before my dinner, and then I would edit it more after that. It usually takes me a day or two to complete a New Super Mario Bros. U challenge article. Please know that I do not rush to create an article, and that I do different parts at different times. Can the stub be removed? I expect to be completed with the article tomorrow. MarioKartManiac (talk) 19:15, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- I'll make sure I'll get it done. I've never gotten a stub on one of my articles before since I didn't start right before a meal, and my other articles aren't erased! After I'm done, can I remove the stub? MarioKartManiac (talk) 19:51, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- Oh really? Never knew about using colons! I've been here for only 3 months so far, so I've been catching on to those types of details. So when I'm done with the article, I can still take the stub off, right? Articles I know of like Time Attack Trial and Acorn Plains Speed Run are going to be around the same size of Mini Mountaineer, and those two don't have stubs. MarioKartManiac (talk) 20:01, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- I have just completed writing the objective for Mini Mountaineer. By the way, challenges in New Super Mario Bros. U are not as long as real levels, so articles about NSMBU challenges will be shorter. I will be adding a picture to complete the article today or tomorrow, and I will be complete. Thank you for the info on the colons. MarioKartManiac (talk) 20:18, 13 June 2013 (EDT)
- I am complete with the article now. Can you please remove the stub? MarioKartManiac (talk) 11:55, 14 June 2013 (EDT)
- I remember the stub saying "please don't remove until an acceptable amount of info has been added". I guess I could of, but I didn't know if I was allowed to. Thank you for some of the info you gave me! MarioKartManiac (talk) 15:31, 14 June 2013 (EDT)

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Unfeaturing
I've shortened the plot section in the Subspace Emissary section. It's still quite long, but it's very difficult condensing it even further without leaving out vital details. Still, I hope I've done enough to reduce the section since I did rewrote the entire dang thing from scratch. Although I did not fix the other problems yet, please consider what I've done for the Subspace Emissary plot section. Thanks! Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 23:17, 20 February 2014 (EST)
- Actually, I've addressed every single issue you've had a problem with in the Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Here we go:
- "Let me start off with the most evident thing: there is a rewrite template for the Subspace Emissary section. None of these are acceptable in a wiki article."
- I rewrote the entire thing, from scratch, probably cutting the entire plot section in half or even more than that.
- "Besides that, though, another aspect that I'm not particularly fond of is the article's abuse of subsections. For example, the Rules section, which carries fourteen subsections. Most of them are relatively basic in the first place, with some only having a single sentence. That section can certainly be organized in a better fashion (do we even need that much info on rules?). Small subsections crop up around the entire article, though, and I really think that it would benefit from a clean scrubbing of sections."
- The amount of unnecessary detail into each subsection (particularly, the rules section) is horrendous, so I removed the subsections and removed the descriptions of some rulesets (do we need really every single description on "loser pick", setting stock intervals, setting time intervals, having a subsection on damage ratio? No! So, I either deleted the details or merged the subsections into one bigger section.
- "Also, this article does not describe at all what the gameplay is like. The Gameplay section covers what's new about this game in regards to its predecessors, but it does not state at all how the game actually plays, which I think is just a silly thing to gloss over."
- This is the first one I dealt with. Good thing you acknowledge this being improved until it's not a problem anymore.
- "The descriptions for the stages are also not very descriptive. There may be other things that I haven't mentioned, but what I have here is a laundry list of problems with this article."
- Done. Yes, the descriptions are woefully vague and bare. Good thing I added the stage hazards and what actually happens in those stages. So, we have a more fleshed out description for each stage, ensuring that those that want a general idea don't need to click on the links. There.
- I dedicated hours to satisfying your complaints so please, if there is anything else that needs a thorough cleanup, please, please, please let me know. If not, I think this article can stay featured. :) Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 01:08, 21 February 2014 (EST)
- I don't really expect people to help me, though, and I don't know who will. Lord Grammaticus said that he would do some of the work, but I don't know when, and I want to do it before the article gets unfeatured. I have a very bad tendency to lack initiative, and once I get started, I dedicate my efforts to have it completed as soon as I can, or else I'll simply forget about it.
- Anyway, I'll be working on character descriptions shortly. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 14:30, 21 February 2014 (EST) Me and Mario7 are two different people.
- Nah, this is probably one of the few times I'd like to engage in a one-plumber effort. I've done it before. I'll do it again. Also, I'm not rushing either. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 14:44, 21 February 2014 (EST)
- Expanded on the character sections, partly. I'd like to see if this is what you're thinking about, and I will expand on additional characters shortly, if you approve. Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 15:05, 21 February 2014 (EST)

How
How was the way it was before better? It took out sections for no apparent reason, took out information for no apparent reason, used a quote that wasn't as defining for her character, and the worst part was, had a completely horribly written description for her appearance. Her hair isn't brown, her eyes aren't sky-blue, her hair isn't short. Please tell me how it's better, and please actually work on this article if you have all those problems with it. You have done so little to improve this despite heading the unfeature status. UhHuhAlrightDaisy (talk) 22:40, 9 March 2014 (EDT)
- This is literally what you just reverted it back to saying: " She has an short light brown hair (longer and orange in the past, but in the Nintendo 64 games, it was dark brown). The Mario Party 6 official site refers her hair as orange." Just read that. Aside from being wrong, look at how horrible this grammer is. It's literally STUPID. You reverted it just because you think her page needs to be smaller, but you don't even actually care about the quality of the page. UhHuhAlrightDaisy (talk) 22:43, 9 March 2014 (EDT)
And these are the other things you want to remove:
- "Years after her initial appearance, Daisy started appearing in more and more Mario games because of a lack of human characters in the series.[2] She now appears in the majority of Mario spin-off games, often a playable character. Daisy is good friends with Princess Peach, and she interacts positively with many other characters. Daisy has appeared in more than forty Mario series games to date, and continues to regularly."
This states why she started appearing as a playable character. It gives an actual reason for it, backed up by official statement. It also addressees her status in the games, and her recognizable number of appearances.
- "Daisy is a tomboy, something made clear in her debut appearance.[3] Daisy is represented by the colors yellow, orange, and green. She has an affinity for flowers; her attire, special abilities, personal emblems and general representations are often flowers."
Again, this is something detailing who she is, and what she's about, and again, the first statement is referenced with an official statement.
- "She has repeatedly used one-liners like, "yeah-hoo," said in dixie accent, and even, "yo," in an urban accent."
UhHuhAlrightDaisy (talk) 22:56, 9 March 2014 (EDT)
- You understand that "other articles have this problem, so this article should have it as well" is NEVER a valid argument? Why do we need paragraphs of crap describing her attire? It's much better to provide a much clear and simple description rather than dwelve into paragraphs and PARAGRAPHS of description, ESPECIALLY when an image of Daisy will do. Standards change over time, and I think Rosalina's article should be cleaned up if that's the case because we honestly don't need every single nitty gritty detail about their clothes. Less is more when it comes to information, and we prefer concise clear information rather than so much fan freaking worship-like descriptions of what they look like. And you don't blame Time Turner for rewriting her description: I did that. Ray Trace(T|C) 23:52, 9 March 2014 (EDT)

Technically it was right to call Princess Toadstool Princess Peach because considering Yoshi's Safari came out for the SNES came out in 1993 which was a year before Hotel Mario came out and Peach's name wasn't reverted back to Toadstool until Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars. The list of allies and stuff
Wow, I didn't realize my objection would lead you to be thinking harder than you expect. I guess that's a good thing. I think the lists aren't really that great.
What I mean by that, maybe we can add special marks to enemies, a different special mark to allies, and another special mark to bosses (so overlapping characters, maybe somebody like Koopa Kid get both marks). The problem, those marks can really clutter the page since most characters are either enemies or allies. And there are a few instances where there may be a question mark on who gets what. Take Koopa Troopas: you initially think of them as generic enemies, but Koopa Troopas are always friendly in the Mario Party games.
My own question leads me into yet another question: why aren't Koopa Troopas listed as allies in the "List of allies" page?but Shy Guys are...
It gives a good general idea for what game they appear in, but for those with multiple appearances, like Mario or Bowser... seeing Donkey Kong listed after Mario's name just irks me for some reason. And... why does Shy Guy have Mario vs. Donkey Kong? And what about crossover characters like Kirby or Link? Kirby and Link obviously qualify for the List of allies since they are friendly characters in the comics. The lists are incomplete.
I'm spouting my thoughts here. It's a whole friggin' lot of questions, but don't be intimidated: feel free to comment if you like. Your thoughts would be appreciated, and I do enjoy these conversations... Mario-HOHO! (Talk / Stalk) 23:11, 24 September 2014 (EDT)

List of Luigi's Mansion beta elements
Good question! However, I can answer somewhere around 99% of the beta elements for Luigi's Mansion. So to answer your question, the article states, "Concepts for Luigi's Mansion, such as character designs, were being planned during the Nintendo 64's lifetime<ref name="N-Sider"></ref>. The game was originally planned to release for the Nintendo 64, while it was at the end of its lifespan, but was later moved to the GameCube due to hardware limitations" and on this article, it states:
"Q: When did you start working on the characters?
- Konno: Well, we had character designers working parallel to the team working on the map and industrial design. Some of these ideas were already on paper with thoughts of the Nintendo 64.
Q: Did the change from cartridge to optical media prove helpful?
- Konno: I don't think it proved much difference with this project.
Along with the fact that this image of Daisy from a Mario Tennis sprite for the Nintendo 64 was left behind and is still within the game's coding. So because of my two sources, I think that it could be plausible that Luigi's Mansion might've been a game meant to be released for the N64 or at the very least started development for it. Jjrapper100 (talk) 18:39, 3 December 2014 (EST)

Nah, you actually got it wrong. "bgcolor" works, not "style". I've hope you read my edit summary and stuff, but this is just in case you missed it. - I didn't really realize that. I've looked into the Mario Kart tables to see what they did different and what made them work but yeah I haven't realized this. You can always split the work of coloring these tables, but either way, it's going to be a pain in the ass replacing them with the proper ones. Dammit. Ray Trace(T|C) 20:11, 21 December 2014 (EST)
- Update: try using Notepad or Notepad ++ instead and use the "Replace" function there, that's what I did and it saved us work :) Ray Trace(T|C) 20:17, 21 December 2014 (EST)
- Black is by far the best color to use for show-casing and displaying semi-transprency (which there are several trophies with that), and makes sprite work (like the 8bit Pac-man trophies) stand out. Furthermore, the default setting for viewing trophies is a dark background, so it's only natural we should replicate that effect. So I'd be supportive of using black to display images. Ray Trace(T|C) 20:26, 21 December 2014 (EST)
- Furthermore, black is better for enhancement of anti-aliasing, also caused by semi-tranpsparent pixels. Overall, trophy images look smoother with black. Sorry for extra message. Ray Trace(T|C) 20:28, 21 December 2014 (EST)

Super Mario Daijiten
As far as I can tell... it isn't, but it does have surprising accuracy when it comes to obscure sources, which is something someone else noticed when it came to Game Boy Donkey Kong enemies and something I noticed when I compared certain Wario Land II obstacles to their Picross NP Vol.7 cameos. The thread does raise a good point, though - just because it tends to be right doesn't mean that it always is, so I agree with a post saying it's more of a placeholder than an actual legit source. On the other hand, if references are going to be more strict, then I'd also say it wouldn't be a bad idea to cut off other oft-cited sites like The Mushroom Kingdom or alleged email responses, since in the end they may be under similar scrutiny at times. LinkTheLefty (talk) 20:56, 24 January 2015 (EST)
- When there isn't a direct source like a screenshot, it's always possible there was a typo or incorrect formatting with the transcribed or copied message. That said, I find it unlikely to be a common occurrence, but it's just a small idea if it's decided to stick with more observable sources... The reliance on fansites is the real issue. Hi there Time Turner! Mario7727 (talk)
About that Mega Evolution talk page
Hello, Time Turner. Well as you said in Mega Evolution talk page, it needs to be split in separate page because of the fact that Lucario's and Charizard's FS works in a different manner. So, what are your suggestions on this page? CSR 13:58, 16 March 2015 (EDT)
Crayon de Couleurs
Alors comme ça vous parlez français
Bref, comment on fait pour écrire avec d'autres couleurs ? ---- Captain Yoshi (Yes ?) 14:47, 16 March 2015 (EDT)

Smash moves
Looking through the articles I've created there still aren't images for any of Little Mac's moves (Giga Mac aside).
And it's not a move but the Daybreak also doesn't have an image.
- I guess we can just use that one pic of the day then.
- And yeah, that's fine by me.
Sumo Bro.
Hey, since you've got the NSMBU Prima eGuide, do you think you can verify if the period in Boss Sumo Bro. is supposed to be there? It's kinda been bugging me since the original user didn't indicate if it should be there or not, and it sticks out like a sore thumb against the other Bro articles. LinkTheLefty (talk) 22:30, 22 March 2015 (EDT)
- Awesome. Thanks for the confirmation and quote. LinkTheLefty (talk) 23:00, 22 March 2015 (EDT)
Re: {{talk}}
By rule, all articles tagged with that template that have been inactive for more than 6 months should have the template removed. You'll notice I kept some more recent ones. Andymii (talk) 11:34, 4 April 2015 (EDT)
Ganondorf
Just in case you didn't notice I also already made the articles for Ganondorf's Warlock Punch and Flame Choke, so those images can go up now.
- No problem. Just wanted to make sure you knew.
About those apparent 'official model renders' from the prima guide
Those NSMB2 images you upload are interesting, as they appear to be renders of the in-game models (which are quite low-polygon), rather than the source/artwork models.
What were the file names of these images in the guide? Do you mind uploading the HTML/PDF file? --Hiccup (talk) 06:12, 6 April 2015 (EDT)
- Thanks. They filenames don't seem so interesting, unfortunately. Too me, they look like the models in-game, rendered nicely on a computer. --Hiccup (talk) 13:24, 6 April 2015 (EDT)
Coins
Somehow I ended up getting them confused, but the problem has been solved now.

IP Edits
Sorry to bother, but could you hide the edits made by the recent vandal IP, at least on my talk page? I'd rather not have random curse words strung throughout the history. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- Mine too. ~~ Boo4761
User Page
Hello, and I'm Marioluigikid. I'm looking for someone who can make my user page exist, and be the same as mr. ice bro's except with a few text edits (EXAMPLE: Change Mr. Ice bro to: Marioluigikid) and replace the picture of a ice bro with luigi in Mario's cholthes with headphones. can you do that?. with respect, Marioluigikid

Block Proposals
Hey, Time Turner - if you think the one or both of my block proposals are unnecessary, I take it you believe the case is self-evident and you wouldn't have any objections if I went ahead with the actions after canceling them? I wanted to make sure before I do so. LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:30, 18 April 2015 (EDT)
- Okay. In that case, I'll go through with that. (Although honestly, having multiple proposals decided and finished at around the same time frame is just easier for me, which is why I added them alongside the others sooner rather than later.) LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:45, 18 April 2015 (EDT)
Item Rates
TT, there's a guide on GameFAQs that lists in detail the hold rates (chances of an enemy holding an item in battle) and drop rate (chances of them dropping the item) for each enemy here. I plan to create another in-depth chart using the data from this guide eventually, but in the meantime let's add these to the badge and item pages. ;)
I also found an in-depth enemy data chart from this thread here as well -- it lists rates of enemies getting afflicted with status ailments and other stats. Eventually, I'd also like to move the Tattle Log from the TTYD bestiary to its own page so I can put all these in-game stats in. --Zootalo (talk) 17:37, 21 April 2015 (EDT)
re:Tailikku1
I and Walkazo already established a precedent for moving back enemy pages if the only reasoning is "it's from the Japanese wikipedia", so you or anyone else invested in this matter can diy as the user has failed to provide usable sources. The random mix of English and JP names on the Donkey Kong 64's page enemy list sticks out hard, and not in a good way. --Glowsquid (talk) 19:16, 21 April 2015 (EDT)

Categories
That's just always how I've been doing it since I got into this whole "creating articles for Smash special moves" project. Since you're bringing this up, then I'll be sure to do it for all future Final Smash articles (and add the relevant categories for all the currently existing ones that don't have it).
- No problem.
Sources
Fizzle (talk) 13:00, 26 April 2015 (EDT)
- And whaddya know, I literally gave a quick check and found some photos on eBay of a guide that does indeed use the same names. Here, for instance! I may bid on it just for full confirmation, but it seems likely that it's genuine stuff. I'd really recommend against moving things back to conjectural names just because SOME people question the source. It's not like conjectural names are any better. Not sure what the opposition to them is really about, a little bit of research would have solved the issue. Fizzle (talk) 13:37, 26 April 2015 (EDT)
- I understand the reasoning, it is hard to find Japanese names, but previously many of the enemies had generic names such as "monkey" or "crab" which would conflict with already existing articles, which can cause a lot of messed up pages and the like.
- Anyway, enough of my rambling, here's the other sample pages for confirmation of names. Look to the enemy boxes, the names are generally listed there, I believe. There may be a few others dotted around. Another source for names is the Japanese Virtual Console manual, which can be found in .pdf form on Nintendo Japan's own website, but this lists only the ones in the English manual as well. Page 1, page 2, page 3, page 4, page 5 and page 6, which I already linked to. For future reference, this is the Hisshou Kouryakuhou guide. There is also another guide listed but I am not sure if it has any names in it or not, the pages are walls of text and I haven't recognized any listed names yet. re:Translating French Names
The waiter stuff for Chau Devant is the popular etimology; generally it means "get out of my way; i'm in an hurry" or "Something dangerous is ahead/coming". I don't really have an idiomatic english equivalent coming to my mind atm. --Glowsquid (talk) 21:49, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
- Sorry to cut in, but "move it" comes to mind, or even just plain "move!" (In Japanese, you'd be saying jama jama, but that admittedly doesn't help much with an English translation.) - Walkazo 22:26, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
Badges
Good work with the badge articles so far! For all those Badge Drop Rate charts I've been adding, I'm wondering if I should only show the rates as seen from that TTYD Enemy Drop Guide in GameFAQs, just the odds in percentages, or continue the way I've been doing it (rates with mouse-over percentages)? Let me know. --Zootalo (talk) 22:19, 27 April 2015 (EDT)
- Huh? No, I got those percentages right. lol I simply take those rates (2/300 = 0.0067) then multiply them by 100 (0.67). Having a drop rate read out as "0.67%" seems easier to understand than "0.0066666666666667", y'know? --Zootalo (talk) 23:37, 1 May 2015 (EDT)
- But I like the "neat" looking percentages. =P Maybe I should put a "/100" to replace the %, then? --Zootalo (talk) 00:02, 2 May 2015 (EDT)
- I put descriptions in the rollover text now on some of the pages stating that rollover percentages were out of 100 (when rolling over Hold Rate and Drop Rate), so I don't see how there'd be any misconstruction (if you wanted me to, I could have that blatantly mentioned, heh). Furthermore, the item drops from the other Mario RPGs were out of 100, so who's to say the item/badge rates from this game -- as weird as they are -- can't have that consistency? That's why I was listing them as such in the first place. --Zootalo (talk) 17:48, 3 May 2015 (EDT)
- But I like the "neat" looking percentages. =P Maybe I should put a "/100" to replace the %, then? --Zootalo (talk) 00:02, 2 May 2015 (EDT)
Bestiary charts
Hey, TT! As I mentioned here on the Paper Mario bestiary talkpage, with the abundance of enemy stats from Mario RPGs -- since I obviously can't fit 'em all on one table -- I've been debating on whether to still keep the charts separate or to split each chart into its own subpage (like I've done with the List of enemy formations in Paper Mario -- or even shrink the font a bit to make more room?
Something else I've been thinking about: I was going to create two subpages of the Superstar Saga bestiary that would list only stats from each version (US/EU and Japanese) -- some people may only want to see stats from one version without the other included. Would that be excessive? --Zootalo (talk) 19:34, 29 April 2015 (EDT)
PM(2) Template Exclusive Stats
Me again. =P I'm trying to incorporate collapsable lists to PM enemy to place the sheer amount of TTYD stats (as seen in this pic) into, however I wanted them visible only if "PM2" is set to "yes" (if that makes sense). I'd also like to have those Item/Badge Drops in there... or even collapsible lists exclusive for PM1, too, if possible. Any help/pointers is appreciated. --Zootalo (talk) 17:46, 30 April 2015 (EDT)
- Well, I tried to get some collapsible lists going using the PM2 parameter this afternoon, but it wasn't working right. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or maybe the parameters don't work for those? --Zootalo (talk) 00:16, 2 May 2015 (EDT)
Spiny Fish
Good question: I honestly don't remember, but since it's from almost a year ago, I might've actually used Wikipedia or the Daijiten then... at least, the in-game narration and official website (places I probably would've checked only now) don't have it. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:40, 1 May 2015 (EDT)
Reply: Grrrols
I would said "due to their similar appearances", since there's no current source nor called in other languages related to them.
