Castle Trodain is a location from Dragon Quest VIII where King Trode and Princess Medea used to live until Dhoulmagus cursed them and covered the castle in vines. It appears as a board in Itadaki Street DS and Fortune Street.

Itadaki Street DS[edit]

Castle Trodain appears as a playable board in Itadaki Street DS. It is the smallest and simplest board, consisting of a circle with a line through the middle. In Tour Mode, the player has to get at least third place against Slime, Toad and Platypunk in Slime's scenario and first place against Bianca, Princess Daisy, and Carver in Bianca's scenario. Completing the board in Slime's scenario unlocks the slime mask and slime suit cosmetics for the player.

In Fortune Street, the standard rules layout is identical to its Itadaki Street DS counterpart while the easy rules layout has fewer squares. Over the course of the game, the castle is slowly populated by various enemies, including She-slimes, Drackies, Bag o' laughs, a Mimic, a Man o' war, a Rockbomb, and a Golem. In Tour mode, the player has to get at least 3rd place against Slime, Platypunk, and Princessa.
