The Super Kongs are clones of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, and represent them during the Super Guide mode of Donkey Kong Country Returns. Much like the Super Guides in other Super Mario series installments, the Super Kongs assist the player with navigating levels, and feature slightly modified designs of their normal counterparts.[1]

In Donkey Kong Country Returns, if the player loses eight lives in a level (or five in Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D), the Tutorial Pig appears and offers to activate Super Guide. If the player activates Super Guide, Super Kong appears and completes the level for the player. Any items collected by Super Kong, such as bananas, Banana Coins, or Puzzle Pieces, are not kept by the Kongs themselves. Super Kong always goes on a predetermined path to the end goal, meaning he does not access hidden areas or any bonus rooms.
