The Tailor Shears (known as the Tailor's Shears in the British English version) are a Thing in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. They are found behind the Secret Door in Shy Guy Jungle. The outline of the Secret Door itself may be found in the eastmost area, in the wall near the Spear Guy's spear. Once collected, they remain in Mario's Album until they are into a Sticker at a Sling-a-Thing station. Once they have been used as a sticker, they return to their original position. They can also be purchased from the Shady Toad for 777 Coins. The Tailor Shears, like the other types of scissors, come in great handy during the second phase of battling Bowser in Bowser's Sky Castle.
Like the regular Scissors, the Tailor Shears are a large sticker, taking up four squares in Mario's album. If and when they are used in battle, the shears slowly rise up onscreen as grand music plays. As the blade shines, they soar up offscreen, proceeding to slice the screen in quick succession. After a moment, the shears return, and perform one final snip, causing the screen to collapse into pieces. Immense damage is then dealt to all enemies. The player may also tap as they are cutting the screen to increase the overall damage.
The Tailor Shears can also be placed into the Sticker Museum as #4, alongside the other cut-related Things. Their basic description refers to them as the loudest and most powerful scissors, while their museum description claims they were likely used for landscaping, as Toads are able to use the cockpits in tandem to operate the shears.
British English description[edit]
This massive, linked pair of sharpened blades was likely used for landscaping. Trained Toads can operate in tandem from the two oval cockpits.
