I was wondering, could we add another item about rewriting articles taken from Wikipedia or other free resources. Although it is perfectly legal to copy from these resources, it shows laziness on our part when we simply copy information. Wikipedia demands original writing, and I think we should to. Can we add:
Remove "you" from articles and replace it either with a character's name (such as, Mario jumps; not you jump) or the player (such as, the player presses the button; not you press the button).
The word "you" is usually frowned upon in academic works (and this an encyclopedia of Mario knowledge). -- Son of Suns
- I knew I forgot something that I edited all the time. This is another problem that is common, and it should (and is) the #2 goal behind itacilizing game titles. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 22:08, 2 September 2006 (EDT)
Un-Wikipedia-fying[edit]
I was wondering, could we add another item about rewriting articles taken from Wikipedia or other free resources. Although it is perfectly legal to copy from these resources, it shows laziness on our part when we simply copy information. Wikipedia demands original writing, and I think we should to. I know Wario and Princess Daisy were directly copied from Wikipedia in the past. Although they have changed, the articles remain largely the same. What do others think? -- Son of Suns
- Added it as a bonus goal. Originality is something we should try to go for 100% with all articles. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 22:36, 4 September 2006 (EDT)
